That story is across various gaming websites at the moment, and is well overdue as far as I'm concerned. 
It's been known for years that there are many people who can't see any 3D effect on films etc (myself included unless I _really_ squint in one eye), but this issue has been discarded by the various industries trying to market 3D yet again. I guess I can't blame them, as you wouldn't want to advertise any downsides to *cough* 'new' technology.
It does make you feel somewhat alienated when various companies/manufacturers are pushing something that you can't even use though, even if it is just a gimmick.
