At the time of the GC, i wouldn't even have considered using either a PS2 or xbox as a DVD player anyway. Up untill the PS3 i don't think i've ever considered watching DVD's (ok, blu rays in this case) a selling point of any machine, as they had never really cut it.

We are greeted instead with My Pony 18 and Petz! Even Nintendo presented us with Style Boutique! They are presenting shovel ware!
Because on the Wii I'm counting two Mario games (one 3D and one 2D) and a ton of Mario spin-off games, one Zelda (with another one coming) and two Metroid games (one new and one collection) with another one coming this year, one Punch-Out!! game.
Let's compare it to the "Golden Age" (SNES times): Two original Mario's (World and Yoshi's Island) and a collection (All Stars), one Star Fox game, one Metroid game, one Zelda game, one Punch-Out!! game. Am I missing something? And it's not like SNES didn't have hundreds of totally ****ty games either...
How about Nintendo 64 era? Two Marios (including Yoshi's Story), two Zeldas, one Star Fox, zero Metroid, zero Punch-Out!!.
Yeah, they've TOTALLY abandoned ALL of their old franchises/series.Last edited by Guts; 29-01-2010, 19:20.

I'd like to see either Pilot Wings or F-Zero on the Wii. Pilot Wings is the more likely as I heavily doubt anything can come close to F-Zero GX within the next five years. The previous title lifted the bar way too high.
All these people with 50+ 360 games are either having themselves on, or like playing **** games. Hardcore? LOL!Last edited by dataDave; 29-01-2010, 20:50.

Number of good games , or good games available for the system aside (funny how NCL fans use that in the DS VS PSP debates)
I say the 360 is the games machine I enjoy and play the most , in terms of genre's it does well and for overall gaming experience
To me, more of issue than the lacking number's of In-House games NCL develop , is now the quality of games them self's .
Bar Mario Galaxy, Wario Moves, and Smash Bro, I haven't been impressed with any other In-House Wii title, that's been developed from the ground up on the Wii by NCL, and they just don't really have the 3rd Party support to make up the shortfall these days

Take me for example - third highest rated PvP Destruction Warlock in Europe during season7, seventh highest rated Warlock of any spec in Europe. I doubt I can get as good at Counter Strike as I was on WoW, infact I know I can't, it takes years and years of dedicated play and everyone is a FPS ninja thesedays.
Maybe another definition of Hardcore is just caning through as many **** games as possible for achievement points, with friends assisting/boosting you for the online achievements.
I just don't think this talk about hardcore gamers only playing on the 360 or PS3 is a very fair statement to make.. I could go one step further and say hardcore gamers only play PC games but that's an entirely different debate over something I know isn't true.(how many console games are played as 'e-sports' anyway?)
I do agree about NCL's output as of late, and I never even liked Galaxy or Smash Bros (I didn't give Smash Bros a fair chance tbh) that much. SMG was awesome but not on my all time best games ever list.Last edited by dataDave; 30-01-2010, 09:03.

and not one of them has under 75/100 on metacritic and I enjoy playing all of them. The xbox 360's library is one of my favourites among DS, N64 and Gameboy

I really don't know what makes someone a Hardcore gamer in the 1st place , maybe playing video games in the nude, with an exposed erect Penis ? , Now that's HARDCORE MAN !!!

I think of myself as a 'core' gamer – someone who buys a lot of them and is discerning in his choices.
I think 'hardcore' gamers are the ones that are happy to play Dead Rising for twelve hours without saving in order to garner gamerscore. The sort of people who are happy to deprive themselves of sleep and don't take proper care of themselves in terms or nutrition and a balanced lifestyle. 15 year old nerds, basically.

Someone needs to write an article on here about what defines 'hardcore' in gaming. Hopefully no cocks will be involved.
