    For me it's:

-Consoles if generally referring, System if talking about a specific machine
    -Finished
    -Boss
    -Controller
    -Shoulder buttons

      "computer games" or "video games"?

I think shoulder buttons are different to triggers, the PS1 pad has shoulder buttons, the Xbox has triggers

Some people have started referring to them as bumpers now that one set of the shoulder buttons are analogue triggers.

          For me it's:

          Consoles
Finished/completed (but I used to say clocked)
          Boss
Controller/pad, depending on the age of the system (odd one, that)
Shoulder buttons/L, R or Z triggers, depending on the system

Anybody else say stick instead of joystick?

Isn't that Microsoft's doing? LB and RB = left/right bumper.

Console, Finished, Boss. I'm pretty dull in that respect.

I have found myself calling patches 'title updates' these days. But that's probably cause thats what the company I work for calls them.

                Boss
                Pad
                Back buttons

Back in the late eighties / early nineties i had a friend who reffered to levels as "cards"

for example the speed card on Vulcan Venture or train card on Final Fight.

I've never heard anybody else use this.

                    - Console

                    - Completed / Finished. It used to be clocked years ago when all we had were Arcade games. Things like "Holy ****, he just clocked Wonderboy in Monsterland with one credit!!!!

                    - Boss, although I used to use the word Guardian quite a bit.

                    - Controller (used to be pad)

                    - Shoulder buttons or perhaps triggers for the PS3. Although if it's about the 360 I often call them the bumpers.

'Clocked' used to have more meaning in the Atari days when you could get a score beyond the limits of the counter used. The score would either reset to zero or you'd get other characters appearing instead of numbers.

Never heard anybody call bosses anything different. 'Guardian' sounds like something a non-gamer would say. Ooh, is that the guardian?

Yes, do you start a game with three lives? Or three men? Or three tries?

                              Lives.
                              Case (instead of box)
                              disc (dvd/cd)
                              button bash (mash)
