    That too!

I want all the Sega 90s/early 2000 arcade games remaking. They could get Sega Ages back again with style!

A HD remake of Ridge Racer would be h'amaze IMO. Not this RR7 turbo boost rubbish, but the original game tarted right up for 2010.

*awaits people to say Rave Racer, but it isn't as good*
I'm not a fan of RE2, its gotta be the mansion for me, classic game.

I don't think REmake has aged that much at all, it's still the best Resi in my eyes and still looks awesome. Not that I'd complain about another remake of it. An RE2 remake is certainly needed though, and the tasters in Darkside Chronicles make me want it all the more.

Shenmue 1&2 with part 3 thrown in as a bonus.

            I share this vision.

I must say:- Sega Rally 3 isn't too bad - but a Subaru doesn't really compare to a Celica.

Absolutely - Daytoooonnnaaaa USA, RE2 and FFVII are the obvious ones - for me.

Erm all I can think off is a silly one not already done as later gen title other than a DS handheld game...would suggest Point Blank as a Wii game. Why not? Wouldn't need much and a fun arcade title to boot.

Whatever game it was people would never like it as much as the original (nostalgia goggles) and it could never compare to that initial excitement that came with the original.

                    Sid Meier's Alpha Centuri.

Yes, there's been other Civ games but this was unique. Each nation had their own ideology, there was a running story throughout, strong diplomacy, custom units and civics. Needs a new interface, graphics overhaul and improved balancing for the later stages of the game.

This is 100% correct. People would moan about something or just everything.

Like I moan about Twin Snakes because Mei Ling now has an American accent and the script was changed slightly in places.

Would have to say a 1:1 remake of FFVII with extra stuff thrown in. I would also love to see a Panzer Dragoon Saga remake as well as Guardian Heroes, Nights Into Dreams & Burning Rangers.

I think FFVII will come eventually but not for a long while as Kitase recently said

"If we were to recreate Final Fantasy VII with the same level of graphical detail as you see in Final Fantasy XIII, we'd imagine that that would take as much as three or four times longer than the three and a half years it has taken to put this Final Fantasy together,"

As for the others i think the chances of seeing remakes for them are slim.

I'll probably be torn to shreds but the current version of FF7 is still a one of the best looking games of all time, except for the bad graphics of the world map and the strange character models. I've never been all that interested in the remake, if they make it i'd buy it. but the game's great as it is. They should have just given it a remaster for the PSN release ie improved some of the jerky animations in battle, and uncompressed the cut scenes a bit. It's still a great looking game, more striking and memorable than anything coming out now. i love the 2D backgrounds-mixed-with CG of 7,8 and 9.

i've played every final fantasy except 11. i still think FF7 is the peoples' favourite not even because of Cloud but because of the atmosphere of the locations. no other game has anything quite like it. FF6 included.

On topic I'd love to see a remake of A Link To The Past. Not quite sure what I'd want from it, just an improved version in some way. Because the scrolling screens get a bit annoying to tolerate nowadays.

I expected FFVII would be all over this thread when I clicked on it. I'd rather not have a remake actually. While I would love to see all the monster designs and locations rendered in HD, I don't want to see the advent-childrenization of the characters. A lot of the cute stuff in the game wouldn't work if they were all posing teens.

For me it has to be Shadow of the Colossus that needs a remake the most.

I think the original poster was spot-on with Deus Ex. I'm still pretty miffed I have to dig out my original XBox to play its (lesser) sequel, too, due to it not being backwards compatible.

Apart from Deus, one game I would like to be remade is Resident Evil 2. It was such a replayable game, not as scary as the first but so much easier to play, I reckon a good remake would be awesome.
