I thought Underworld was quite nice. The biggest issue was the bugs - you always hear people complain about bugs, yet never see any yourself... but in this case, they were incredibly frequent. It smacked of a tight deadline. It was hardly game-breaking though, I throughly enjoyed playing through it nevertheless. It's worth gritting the teeth and persevering because it is as good as Legend.

They do need to ditch all of the technology, GPS contact and the like, stick Lara in a tomb and go back to the sense of loneliness that made the original game so excellent. When playing the original game, you really felt like you were a million miles away from civilisation, stuck in the ancient ruin god-know-how-deep under the ground, where people probably haven't stepped foot for a couple of thousand years. Underworld and Legends, as nice as they both were, really lacked here.

I have to admit I missed the bit about it being a digital download

XBLA and PSN by the looks of it.

Is it my imagination or does that look ****e and just plain stupid?

I'm all for suspension of disbelief, but a gun that fires a grapple and the woman holding it is strong enough to keep it taught enough for someone to walk on? Also the lass on the rope appears to have a foot either side of the rope, but not ON the rope.

If they were in a lower resolution I'd have assumed the game to be bound for the PSP. Why release shots like that?

It's certainly not what I was expecting. I'm all for experimenation, but I'm curious to know what they're going for with this.

                  XD

This looks so awful. Someone pointed out earlier, ShakeyJake I think, the sense of loneliness and being far from civilization was so well crafted in the first game, and I can't imagine anything which would take TR further from this than an action based, linear and isometric cut down XBLA bull**** release. Which I've decided this. I'd love to be proved wrong I'm amazed there's so much TR hate in this thread, I love the series so much despite the amount of disappointment there's been. Anniversary in particular was just superb, and showed why the original game was such a big deal at the time (apart from its then cutting edge graphics).

I just wish they could've continued in that vein there are no good 3D platformers now ffs.

I used to love the TR games. Fond memories of playing TR2 over and over again...now we have this **** stain? Why bother?

Dear me those screenshots look ****e. I didn't realise this was just going to be a budget PSN/Live game

If they'd have released those shots along with some useful information I wouldn't have dismissed it so easily. Now that sounds really interesting.

Isn't Tomb Raider appearing on a non-Sony platform big news in itself?

I don't think so. Loads of TR games have been multi-platform.

This looks pants. And, now that I've read that bit about it, sounds pants too.

Only if you ignore all of the other platforms the games have appeared on.

Legend came out on the 360, XBox1 and GameCube, Anniversary and Underworld came out on the 360 and Wii. Hell, The Last Revelation and Chronicles came out on the Dreamcast.

Going way back, the original game came out on the Saturn first, and the PC versions of 1-3 had exclusive chapters.
