I think it's pretty obvious that they're committed to it. They're giving it a big marketing push even now, and that's only going to increase as we get to E3 and beyond.

I also think people are underestimating what Sony first party will produce for this. They have a pretty strong track record with this kind of venture, so there's no reason to think they can't make it a success at least in the casual sector (It's not going to trouble the Wii though).

I'm curious to see if they can give me anything of interest as a traditional gamer personally. If nothing much happens in that sector, I'm unlikely to pick it up at all (Although if they patch Move controls into the UK version of Eyepet my daughters might have something to say about that! ).

I don't think anyone is underestimating but so far what they have shown as far as game content is not enough to differentiate from WII. They have to deliver at E3 but with their focus on 3D as well we shall see. They have dropped the ball a few times with PS3 already and only recently started delievering on a lot of promises. I want to see real games running real time, I don't want to see no Killzone2 CGI. We shall see whether they can deliever.

To be fair Rubans most people would agree that the Killzone 2 CGI lookd remarkably like the final game.

Regarding Eyepet, I find it quite amazing how well they map 3d objects onto that 'magic mat' that they give you with it. That camera is able to retrieve and process quite a lot of useful data on its own. My daughter also loves Eyepet!

All about opinions but most people I spoke to would disagree but regardless, don't show a game 3yrs before release then pretend it's in game. That's my point.
Sony have a lot to prove and we shall see, it's not anti sony to criticise Sony
For the same things Wii is being heavlily cricised for Sony look to have almost followed the same exact path, if they can deliever no one will care.

The best thing to hope for as far as Eyepet goes is that this helps with the light requirements. Some of the tasks in that game aren't friendly to playing at night.

            (NOTE: Yes, I have Platinum'd Eyepet. )

This is a pretty impressive new demo:

Interesting, but what does it mean in terms of gaming? I wish they would show more demos of how this will rock my mind as a gamer.

Oh of course. But what I mean is that, if motion control declines in popularity, the Wii will have some real problems. If the Move doesn't result in anything long-term and the 'traditional games continue to grow, Sony will find themselves coming out on top.

Next generation of Myst, I chuckled.
Yet again cool tech but needs more games, E3 is going to be crazy this year. Seeing tech demos is cool and hearing ideas on how it can be utilised are fun but I imagined a world of possibilities when I first saw Wii and look what I got there.

The bit where he was actually 'stepping around' and looking from side to side is exactly what I imagined when the Wii was first announced. I'd love to see how that would work in serious games, such as survival horror games.

                          That is seriously impressive.

The fact they let two guys just have a faff with it says to me they are pretty damn confident about their tech.

As much as I've bleated on that this whole Move thing seems pointless, that is seriously cool.

Impressive in a "that's nice to watch at on Kotaku" way, but I just don't care for gaming. I like to sit down and relax holding a game pad.

It looks like Minority Report to me. I don't see how it's gonna make actual games any better though. It's just novelty as far as I'm concerned. I'm not convinced by motion control at all.

Motion control games are pretty limited if you ask me. It doesn't matter how much control you have within the game, you are always governed by something, just like with regular games. Motion control is just an alternative to using a standard control pad.

I'm still yet to find anything on Wii that is more fun that Wii Sports Bowling, and that was the first title for the console.
                                Kept you waiting, huh?
