games with branching story lines and multiple endings

Chrono Trigger has multiple endings, but you can only get most of them on a NewGame+ playthrough.

That's what's putting me off playing Chrono Trigger, I've had it on the DS for months and I've only fired it up to check that it works!!

Don't say once you've completed it, you go back to the start and have to level up again??? Or, do you restart all maxed-up??
