Good to hear the reports are pretty positive. All sounding good. I really hope they put some effort into updated Animal Crossing. I'll get it regardless but it would be disappointing if it's the same again.

Would love to hear more about Ridge Racer as it's one that, for me, went from must buy to not a chance and it's edging back towards must buy again.

Oh, and any sign of that plane 3D thing in Mercenaries or does it look like actual 3D?

All of the games I had played looked full 3D to me. I was especially mindful of this due to a few comments on here, but every game I had played honestly looked like 3D and there wasn't a single instance where I thought it just looked two-plane.

The Ridge Racer demo on display had three tracks, and 6 cars to try. It retains the Dynamic, Mild and Standard drift types from the PSP versions. A few old cars make a return.

The tracks in the demo, I THINK, were all new and not recycled but I haven't played ridge 7 so I could be wrong on this.

You get the option to choose from Standard, or One Button drift types, but if you've played ridge at all you won't want to use anything but standard. You get the option at the start of the race to begin with full nitrous, or get an automatic boost start, but it costs points which I'm assuming kills your reward at the end of races with a penalty.

The game handled exactly like you'd expect it to do. It's ridge racer all over, with some returning old music but a new soundtrack. No complaints, but no surprises either. 3D looks awesome and if you have any kind of love for Ridge 6/7, or PSP ridge racer, this deserves to be on your buy list.

The London venue had two sections with games. One with all the big titles in and one with nintendogs, some AR stuff, etc. We heard the group after us come into the first room while we were in the second, and for some reason the lovely lady attendants let us go back in so we mingled with the second group and got more play time.

Interestingly, we didn't need any photographic ID. We just gave our names and they crossed us off a list after showing our tickets. So for those on here wanting to give their ticket to someone else, you might just be able to get away with it if there are any more events in London.

Aye, I remember the heavy slating that the DS got from "hardcore" gamers in '04. Soon changed their minds about the machine when it was eventually established though. I'm still optimistic.

SF for me seems to be getting the most consistant praise. An arcade perfect (damn, you don't hear that often now do you!) conversion seems a good effort for the machines first release. Trouble is, it's a little too gamerish to show off to the girlfirend!

I still think pilot wings is gonna be a great 'show off' title and good game to boot so I think that'll be my first 3ds title.

From peoples impressions though it's looking like a 3 way shoot off between sf, pilot wings and rr for me. Hopefully reviews will come in nice and early and I can decide then. Still fancy Steel Diver too..

Out of curiosity, is anyone still planning on buying a US machine this time? I'm intending to go for a US machine since Nintendo are still useless with release dates, but is there anything I should be aware of?

Part of me really cannot be bothered with this import lark anymore, tbh.
