Doesn't matter if the item is marked as "toy" with a price of $25 though

You'd have to be pretty unlucky for it to get stopped/checked. Or so I'm told anyway...

I got told by customs the other day that anything over £20 will be charged, even if it's marked as a gift. I got stung when someone sent a vectrex to me and marked it down as a give and put the value at £30

Had a go on 3ds today. Played the face shooting game. Boring. Then some augmented reality thing that was quite impressive. A bit like invisimals on PSP. 3d was impressive but kept losing it.
        Still not tempted to buy.

Yet no VGP shipping as been stopped by custom, including three consoles (Wii, PS3 old model, DSi XL).

Also what shipping options did you use? Did you leave a little message to ask them to mark it down super low so you'd avoid customs/tax?
I'm pretty sure that when I bought the PS3 and PSP from them, DHL was the only shipping option available. This is going back a few years though as both were bought at launch. The last thing I bought from them was Green Day Rock Band on PS3 about 2 months ago which was 20 odd quid and again was marked down. I've never had to ask them to mark anything down as they've always done it anyway. I also remember getting the full Rock Band kit from them ages ago which obviously came in a giant box and again, no tax.

Might be an idea to see if anyone else has bought from them more recently before you place your order as it has been a few months since my last order with them. I'm in the UK btw.

Thought I'd ask in here, but I'm really wracking my brain as to what to do regarding a 3DS preorder.

Do I cancel the amazon order I've had open since the end of January for the console and The Sims 3 (which could be really **** on 3DS judging by previews) for 211 quid for tesco entertainment's latest offer of the console with any game (of which I'd pick Street Fighter) for 207 excluding a quidco payment of 18 quid.

I don't REALLY care about missing out on a launch day console, I just don't want a Wii launch like draught to hit the country where it becomes gold dust for 3 months or so. I know Tesco charge straight away, which doesn't bother me - I just want the console, a decent game and pay as little as possible without a stupid wait because Nintendo would rather screw their fanbase.

              Any suggestions?

Was in your exact situation about half an hour ago but have now cancelled my play order from a few weeks ago and gone wiht the Tesco deal. They do say "dispatched in time for release" so I'll be pretty piste if it isnt!

Tesco are notoriously **** for low priced things. Chances are they won't send you one

I forgot I said that XD

This isn't a pricing error though, they'd already confirmed that the offer was originally a pricing error and then increased the price.

Really don't know what to do - not convinced that the Sims 3 will be any more than a direct port of the DS version with crappy 3D effect and rubbish frame rate. Would have bought SF at launch anyway.

A few ppl are going with the US 3DS, so those of you that are can you tell me is it because it is region free for 3DS games or that you wanna make sure you can get releases that may not get released or will get released later here in the UK?

It isn't region free for 3DS games.

Most likely the potential of otherwise unreleased titles would be the selling point for alot of people.

The 50Hz/60Hz issue applies/applied to handheld games?

                                Really?
