I'd say it only needed Advance Wars 1 or 2 (or both!) to be absolutely perfect. Luckily I've already got the ones I'd be interested in the most (Minish Cap, Fire Emblem and Mario Kart) as GBA carts and Yoshi's Island on the SNES.

I wouldn't say "never", that's a long time. Maybe they'll be available for purchase after a year or six months? Would be moronic not to put them out there if they are ready to go already and those are some HUGE titles.

Didn't they said they have 'no plans' to release them any other way? If I'm remembering correctly, that leaves it wide open for them to make them paid downloads at some point.

The NES games will be released for sale for non-ambassadors at some point (and we get free updates), but the GBA games will be exclusive.

What Nintendo said, as far as I can figure out in a Google search, is this: "These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on Nintendo 3DS in the future."

'No plans' is a vague term that doesn't commit to anything. I'd be surprised if we don't see some of them for sale at some point.
