Announcing a price for Japan, for the US and not for Europe? It just makes me think "oh well, just another way in which Nintendo shafts the Europeans..".
Honestly, they're freaking idiots.
Only things I learnt from the whole thing was:
1) Release date - 25th March
2) There's one friend code per system; not per game.
That's it.

They didn't announce the price because it will be up to the distributor of each country. Nintendo only distributes it's products to a couple of countries in Europe. The rest is handles by independent importers, who set their own prices.
Let me emphasize this next line with capitalized letters: NO STORES WILL BE ABLE TO CHARGE MORE THAN THE MARKET PRICE FOR THE CONSOLE. All consoles ship to stores for almost the same price as the store sell it for, that's the way it's been for years, and will always be. The reason for this is because of price competition. It's actually common sense: If store A sold 3DS with a 20% profit, why wouldn't store B sell it with a 15% profit and getting more sales due to a lower price? Then store C would sell it even cheaper etc. Surely you get the picture.
There is NO reason to speculate as wildly as some of you have done in here, you have nothing to base it on. The 3DS will cost what it's supposed to cost when it hit stores, and the price difference from store to store will be a maximum of 10% of the total price, and if so many stores will sell it at a loss, to increase sales.
