Had about 8 Streetpasses yesterday. Just a note, if you pass the same people repeatedly they 'level up' in StreetPass Quest (or whatever it's called) making them stronger next time they fight.

    I love this thing

Screen protectors finally turned up from Play-Asia yesterday too - my time of fear is over!

I go nowhere near other people when travelling to and from work so I made our lass take the DS to the Vietnames embassy when she went to get our visas. I was hoping she would street pass a few people on the way, but nothing.

I can see the predometer becoming a little obsessive too. I'd noticed that it was doing the counting of steps when on sleep mode but thought little of it. Then I paid attention to the Coins it converts the steps into and hadn't realised SSF4 uses them. I've already built enough Coins to buy 10 figurines for the StreetPass mode on it

Streetpassed on the train to work, I think. Was playing Pilotwings and green light came up. Still have to spend those hard-earned pedometer coins.

I quite like the pedometer in it, was on a wee trip round town the other day and got 8000 steps out of it!

What does the little light on the right hand side over the buttons mean? I thought it was just a low battery indicator but at times it just flashes and I'm not sure why.

If it blinks yellow, it's informing you a friend has just come online. Presumably it'll be used to let you know you've got a message if they ever update it to support messaging.

And it blinks green when you get streetpassed.

                    Ah okay. Thanks guys.

Working in a games studio means there's a lot of repeat streetpassing going on. We'll all have this silly quest thing destroyed soon...

I've yet to get a single bloody street pass in one of the most populated areas of the world.

If it's not Apple or Sony people simply don't want to know, here at least.

Someone was grinning at me on the bus this morning as I was playing Gimp Radiator. Hopefully they were also an owner!

I don't think there's much doubt the console was rushed out now. I'm willing to bet they were planning a late May release date when the console was in development. Whether it was the NGP which spooked them or the plummeting sales of the Wii (and its barren line up) is up for debate but Nintendo weren't ready on a software front for this launch.

I could understand Zelda not making the launch, they're putting a lot of effort into it (things that were sprites are polygons, 2D backdrops are now 3D, big chunks of remodelling and retexturing) but Star Fox 3D from the trailers was nothing but N64 assets and they even kept the rubbish draw distance (but without fogging effects to mask it). It could still be they're adding new modes and stages (Internet multiplayer please Nintendo!!!) but I'd bet it was originally planned for launch. No first party games for a console launch is odd (Pilot Wings is second party).

Delaying Zelda probably benefits Nintendo in the long run anyway, once sales die down a bit they release Zelda and get another sales spike.

Nintendo have it a lot tougher this time, they won't have the sales surges that they had from Brain Training and Nintendogs to cause sales to explode.

Zelda, Mario Kart and Mario 3DS will provide massive boosts but that's 3 titles over what's likely to be a year long period. If Nintendo ae smart, they'll pay Capcom to do a Monster Hunter 3D
