Unless the Slim comes with a 5 year warranty for ANY failures, no chance. I am fed up with Microsoft's hardware record in my own house, never mind anyone elses!

Replace 360 if slim arrives?

I basically refuse to buy another console because I don't want to give Microsoft an installed-base boost because they couldn't be bothered to build a console that lasts. The only thing running against that at the moment is that I would like an HDMI connection for a monitor I'm thinking of investing in for my computer.
If my current (fifth) machine lasts as long as the last one then I will have received my legal entitlement of six years, at which point I would feel comfortable buying a new one.
The results of my (unscientific) survey are relevant here:
57% of 360 consoles were a second, paid-for machine.Last edited by egparadigm; 14-04-2010, 10:49.

I don't really care for cosmetics, it could be Wii size and I would only buy it if this 360 went belly up.
Now on my 2nd 360, 1st 360 lasted for 2 years then discs wouldn't read, current one is still going strong with 2 years+ on the clock. I do consider myself lucky as I know a few RROD victims personally, it is not nice at all.

I've liked the improvements the Elite made to the standard Xbox 360 model, so if there's enough change and I'm able to afford one, I'll trade my Elite for a Slim 360.
