I got my bioshock 2 pre-order monday after release, and my monster hunter tri preorder monday after release. There pretty slow but both where very cheap pre-orders. It's all down to wherever you can wait, i know i cant.

Problems with Zavvi (Don't pre order from them)

        Hi,

I just wanted to relate the experience I?m having with Zavvi. I ordered vanquish from them about 2 months before release. On the 20th of October they charged my account and I have not received the game or a refund.

First, I get emails telling me that they have run out of stock (about 4 of them).
Secondly, I get an email telling me that there is a problem with their system in the warehouse and that my order has not been sent.
Thirdly, I get an email telling me that my order cannot be cancelled.

In between these emails I have tried to contact zavvi through their site, however they do not reply but mark the query as answered. So I rang them up and they tell me that it had been sent and to ignore the initial emails. about two weeks later I ring again they tell me again it had been sent and it will probably be with me in the next couple of days. A week later I ring again and they tell me there has been a mix up and the order was not sent at all. I ask for a refund which they agree and tell me that within 3 to 5 working day I will get my money back. A week later I call them and they tell me there has been another mix up and so on and so on.

Basically they have taken my money or stolen it, depends on how you look at it. I will never use them again after this fiasco and warn others to be weary. I will contact visa and try and get my money back via them. Since, Zavvi just keep giving excuses.

Saw one of Zavvi's new TV ad's today which cheerfully proclaimed:

          "Zavvi...Entertainment delivered"

          Oh the humanity irony!

Can't you just say it hasn't arrived and put a claim in?

I would avoid Tesco entertainment too, apart of The Hut group too. They letdown everyone who ordered Black ops from them by getting it to them on Wednesday.

I'm not one to make a big deal of a small error by an online retailer, but my dealings with ZAVVI have been beyond a joke now, and I just want to warn anyone to think twice before using them.

I was charged ?54.99 on the 29th March for the purchase of two games, two weeks later neither had shipped despite being listed as in stock, so I contacted them. I got a reply from Chris stating that one of the games had now shipped and sure enough it had suddenly been moved to shipped. Suspicious.

The games never arrived. A week later I reported this, and was asked if I would like a refund. Of course. But first I had to fill in a form declaring no games had arrived. Which I did. Anyway, epically long story cut short I am STILL awaiting a refund despite a) Zavvi charging me for a product they admit never shipped and b) acknowledging receipt of the self declaration form for the second game which supposedly DID ship.

Unbelievable. It's been nearly TWO months to the day I was charged and still no refund. I can not stress enough how shocking this experience has been. I have the whole correspondance ready to paste in an email to trading standards but NTSC'ers beware.

The Hut/Zavvi can be brilliant especially on price and are usually okay on delivery. Once though I got really irate at them because they waited a week before shipping an item due to a move of warehouse. My recent experience has been fine, I think they are much better than Amazon or Play for preorders.

Zavvi are awesome, price includes delivery for continental Europe and I can buy in Stirling, unlike Play et al. Prices are good, and it's an absolute lifeline for me for getting games over here (France).

Had about 30 things delivered flawlessly. Zavvi 4 EVA!
