Killzone 2 was pretty awesome so that's not really that much of a bad thing.

Good, despite the incessant complaining from some quarters I'm really happy that they've really made the right choice in keeping the overall feel of the games the same. I'm more than happy for the people who didn't enjoy the second game to also not enjoy this one!

I started Killzone 2 on Veteran when it was released and the shootouts were intense due to the AI also using rush tactics while you actually wanted to have them at bay. But the controller lag did play a part in KZ2's challenge. Perhaps the better controls is whats going to make the 3rd kind of easier.

In terms of warfare and feeling of destruction, I think Killzone 2 had no equal.

Really loved the campaign already as it was, but i'm thrilled that Guerilla addresses all the issues regarding story telling, feeling of progression and helghast motives.

Hoping they'll fix up the MP which was a train wreck the further you progressed (I played until I hit General). Lower player count (which was confirmed I believe), no sentry bull**** please. And be able to carry more than one rifle.

Yeah, they've mentioned at least that you won't have to grind so hard to get some of the cooler perks and abilities. I like the fact that you earn your stripes (In a class based online game it's great that you have to have at least a basic understanding of the classes before moving on), but it definitely took too long in KZ2.

You all know my admiration of the first game. The latency on the control (its not lag, but when the devs stop correcting journalists who use the term incorrectly, what's the point anymore!) was down to two things; the "dead zone" on the pad (easy to fix), and the advanced render techniques putting control response a frame back (though oddly enough, I don't think it's as bad at GTA4, and no-one complained about that).

Complaints about Potty Mouths while you're clawing someone's eyes out are null and void, Team America style

I had no issue getting more of the unlocks online. If anything, it needed more ranks and a longer unlock system, as once everything was done, many people I know left. I think the only one I didn't get was the kills with the flying drone....

John, in case this is also addressed to me, be assured i have no intention to spoil the party, really. i love Killzone, even the first game, but playing the above demo was a disappointment for a number of reasons. i am sure though that everybody who was 100% pleased with Killzone 2 will have nothing to fear.

                Not you in particular.

I had no issues with what some people seemed to not like in the last game so I'm very happy that they're willing to stand up for their original design choices rather than change them to make the game more acceptable.

I want Killzone 3 to have a similar feel to Killzone 2, I don't need it to be a quicker game. I had no issues with the shooting in it.

There are things that I do feel can be improved but they're things that they've called issues rather than them being design choices. Rico was a problem but they've talked about the changes and the fact that he can now also heal you.

They've added more vehicles, which as long as they handle as well as the vehicles in the second game then that should be a positive.

They've talked about more variety in the environments and graphics but I didn't think they were a problem. I don't think they should be adding more colours just because people some people didn't like the way it looked. The same happened on Gears of War 2 when the colour in the first game was perfect.

I was very happy with the multiplayer side of things but I'm not the best person to comment on that as I only played it for a few hours as I'm just interested in taking games online.

                  .
Despite what i said about him in number 2, i actually hope they have kept the same personality in 3 (obviously healing you is a bonus) but it will reaffirm the fact thats its actually you who's the invading nazi in search of power and resources, not the helghans, despite the iconography of the two forces suggesting otherwise.

i am sure you meant it the other way around, right? anyway, my main issues are a mix of apparently design choices and issues, which could easily be fixed. like the just one weapon-limit, the lack powerful or satisfying feeling weapons, the massive use of motion blur or the narrow and low fist person view.

i don't think it's appropriate to call the ISA a bunch of Nazis just because they are invading Helghan, but the Alliance surely has become the main aggressor in this conflict.

i hope that in Killzone 3 the Helghast will be portrayed with a few more nuances, offering a little more than just evil Nazi stereotypes. in fact it's the history of the Helghast, pretty much resembling post WW1 Germany, that gives the Killzone universe its distinct personality and feel. so, hopefully there will be playable Helghast missions sometime soon too.

The Helghast are far more interesting than those ISA knuckleheads. It could be that you are actually supposed to hate the ISA after Killzone 2. They did succeed if that were the case.

Killzone 2 didn't really flesh out the story during the course of the game, much like Resistance 2 forgot to do also. With Naughty Dog supervising the storytelling somewhat and Guerilla taking complaints into account I expect Killzone 3 to triumph over the 2nd game on this subject.

Also, please, no. more. trophies. in. multiplayer. Boosting sucks and will never fade away.

I didn't end up hating the whole ISA after Killzone 2. Just Rico.

at least Guerilla could do lot of really cool things with the Helghast and their rich, history inspired background, even games no one dared to make yet. like playing some real bad asses similar to SS commando units in WW2. there are a few war movies just waiting to be adapted for such a purpose and i am instantly thinking of classics like Cross of Iron or Stalingrad.

No point for me as I'm buying this anyway.

The big trouble with this is the awkward update time for the store meaning many fans miss out just for being at work, what is it now? 4pm?
