I'd prefer the official one but I suppose it's not essential.

Thanks, I've ordered one now and it should be here tomorrow.

If I could see the cables it wouldn't matter as much but as I'm buying online I've got no idea how well constructed they are. The problem with poorly constructed cables is that that they can come apart at their weakest points and the Wii won't be left in one room which means I may just have to buy another 12 months from now.

I've always found that Nintendo make fairly substantial hardware and I'm happy to pay a little more and have one that will last as long as it needs to.

I've read a bit about that but wasn't too impressed with the videos I've seen but I may give it a go. How much are they and do they usually have demos?

I'd been looking at these WiiWare games, any thoughts on them from people who've played them?

World of Goo does look good and I'll almost definitely be getting Toki Tori as I enjoyed it on the iPhone. There's a scary amount of SNES games that I want and Secret of Mana will be an instant buy. Super Mario '64 is still my favourite game so will be bought at some point as well as the two N64 Zeldas.

The Wii gams I've bought so far are Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda & PunchOut as well as having Super Mario Galaxy 2 on pre-order. I really want to get New Super Mario Brothers, Super Mario Kart and The Metroid Trilogy but they all seem to have held their value really well in comparison to many other games.

I don't need any of them at the moment so will hopefully be able to pick them up a bit cheaper sometime. I'll post a wants thread on here at some point to as there's a few Gamecube games I'd like to get hold of as it's one of my favourite consoles ever.

Has anybody taken part in the Wii Connection Masters offer that's currently advertised in the Shop Channel. I'm sure I'm missing something but it seems far too good to be true.
Why not help someone else connect their Wii console to the internet and get 500 Wii Points for yourself?

If you manage to help 10 people connect their Wii consoles to the internet, you will reach Wii Connection Master Gold Status. As a token of appreciation, you will then be able to download the entire Wii Shop Channel library of NES titles by Nintendo, completely free!

Help another 10 people, for a total of 20, and you will reach Wii Connection Master Platinum status. You will then be able to download the entire Wii Shop Channel library of NES, SNES and Nintendo 64 titles for free!

Not only that, but if you have purchased any titles included in these bonuses before reaching Wii Connection Master Gold or Platinum status, you will be able to send them to Wii Friends as gifts for free (once per title)!

Please note that this offer may end at any time without prior notice.

i have John, only managed to get three people connected so far so not much of an ambassador, but most people have either connected online already or find it too complicated (those in my office any way). but yes you get 500 wii points when your new registered owner registers your wii number as having helped them.

its worth doing - i dont expect ill manage 10 let alone 20 though. (damn i want all those free games!)

To follow on from my last reply...

I started having issues with the cable yesterday where it needed to be wedged into the back of the Wii at a certain angle to show all of the colours but this evening it's decided that it's no longer interested in red.

I've ordered an official cable now and in total it's cost me nearly £36 and that's exactly why I prefer to spend a little more initially to get something that I know is going to be worth the money.

A case of bad luck, but that really doesn't prove anything one way or the other.

I've had some cheap 5? component cable for a few years and there hasn't been a single problem with it.

Metroid Prime Trilogy can be had for ?15 in Asda or if your lucky enough to find a Sainsburys with a copy it was reduced to a stonking ?6

No proof was offered as none was needed. You asked my why I preferred an official Wii component cable over the cheaper third party cables and I advised you why that was.

I appreciate that you may not agree with my opinion but I'm not really sure what sort of proof you are looking for?

I understand that you use a budget cable without any issues and I'm sure there are many, many people who could state exactly the same. No proof is required for me to accept that.

Myself, it's not worked out that way on this occasion and it's certainly not the first time such a thing has happened which is why have a preference for first party accessories.

You said yourself that it was "bad luck" that caused me to I end up with a faulty cable, that in itself suggests that luck is involved in whether you do get a working cable or not. Again, I'm just happy to pay a bit extra to reduce the chance of bad/good luck dictating whether I need to buy a second cable to replace a faulty first cable because I was unlucky.

Where do people buy their Wii Points from? I'm not really finding any savings online and some places seem to be even more expensive than buying them directly on the console.

I could have sworn I saw Wii points cards in either Morrisons OR ASDA for about £9.77 for 1000, sorry I can't remember which and it was bout 2 weeks ago, don't know if it was permanent price.
Online possibly the cheapest 8.97 tesco

How much are 1000 via Wii?

That's the sort of price I was seeing online, I thought it was a reasonable price until I checked on the Wii and saw they were ?7 for 1000.

Winning Eleven 2010 Play maker: Aoki Samurai No Chousen (Blue Samurai Challenge). Not played it myself as I don`t own a Wii. But this is supposed to be the best football game on anything period. Plus makes the next gen versions look slightly inferior game play wise.

                            Impressions and game play here:

The audio travles along standard RCA cables so any RCA splitter such as these would be fine.
