yeah, I tend to aree with what's on there. Nice to see Demon's Souls getting in at number 4 too.

      #1 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3/360)

At least it's not listed for the new Sega console.

I actually quite enjoyed ODST, the only Halo game I've enjoyed since the first one so I'm surprised to see it get a most disappointing listing.

Congratulations all the team at Naughty Dog for a superb game, and a very nicely written article Duncan enjoyed reading it all, and finally congratulations the readers, think the best game really did win and it was an excellent year, top that 2010.
p.s i rather enjoyed RE5, the marmite game of NTSC-UK.

This article shows just how many great games we played last year.

Great to see the NTSC-UK GOTY 2009 see the light of day!

Fair play to Uncharted. I haven't played it, but it would be my first buy if I had a PS3.

lol at me being quoted whinging again, just like the Halo 3 feature.

Uncharted 2 deffinitley deserved to win.

Resident Evil 5 couldnt have been the most disapointing game of last year though!, hard to belive so many voted it as such. It wasn't as good as RE4 but no way was it a bad game... All the others on the list were more disapointing for me and i'm sure there were alot of other disapointing games too.

Demons Souls should definitely be No.1 as it manages to be retro, current and pioneering simultaneously.

The thing with Uncharted 2 is that as lovely as it looks, its still just Tomb Raider crossed with Gears of War and continually switches back and forth between those two plagiarisms. Come the end of the game, there is nothing you are doing which you weren't doing within the first hour.

Resident Evil 5 as most disappointing is pretty shocking tbh. Its a solid game and I question those aligations regarding the action ramping up to a point where the controls become too flawed, because they sound like the words of those who didn't bother to push beyond the first few stages. On normal difficultly the game is perfectly manageable even with an A.I. Shiva except in places where there are supposed to be obvious difficultly spikes. It also looks great and has a lot to keep you coming back to if you're into achievements/trophies. Resident Evil 4 was widely considered to be the best game of its generation, so Capcom basically deliver the same game in a new location and it somehow becomes the most disappointing game of the year.

Resi5 was far, far worse than Resi4 though, it wasn't just reskinned.

It was only worse if you were expecting another iteration of RE4. The world moves on and RE5 for me was awesome - GOTY for me.

Of course like every internet 'list' I don't agree with all of it but I can see it reflects the general concensus.

I'm a little disappointed that Demon's Souls doesn't top the list, though that's offset by the fact that I'm quoted alongside its entry

Surprised by how well received Shadown Complex was as well!
