IGN have given this 9.0 which is pretty impressive.

Watching the video review of it has actualy made me more pumped for this than I am for COD Black Ops now.

Shame that you apparently cant lean around corners when using the classic controller though.

Been playing this for a few hours now. It's great. What it isn't however, is an update of the original. If you wanted that, essentially N64 Goldeneye with a new lick of paint, you're out of luck.

Are you playing with the Wii remote? If so, does it actually work? Are you getting better scores than you would with a Classic Controller?

Despite the lean only being avaliable on the wiimote the game seems designed for the classic controller, the limited edition even comes with a gold one.

It makes sense really, Classic controller support is the first thing most people wanted as soon as this game was announced.

The IGN review (I know, it's IGN) says the game actually controls best with the Wii remote if you give it a chance.

Activision has been pushing heavily for gamers to recognize GoldenEye's support for the Classic Controller Pro. This is to attract those that have been FPS gaming on an Xbox or DualShock controller, so if you find yourself able to aim and shoot using dual analog controllers, you can get that experience and excel in GoldenEye. The Classic Controller Pro does lack the analog triggers on the shoulder, but for the most part if you're schooled in the HD console's FPS games, you'll feel right at home in GoldenEye.

That said, honestly, the game has some of the best Wii Remote controller support seen in a first-person shooter, and with practice it's clear that the quick and direct aiming of the Wii pointer is the true way to play this game.

The Remote support is second only to The Conduit's crazy OCD level of customization, but in GoldenEye you have full input on pointer sensitivity, rotation speed, invert look, and other options, and everything you adjust is saved and applied to individual profiles that you can utilize in multiplayer.

Maybe, but playing with a wii remote for more than 10 minutes hurts my wrist (I still havent even completed super mario galaxy 2 yet becuase of this and FPS's cause even worse pain), so I'm not going to bother to even try.

Classic Controller is the only way to play for me.

It probabaly means Id be at a disadvantage playing online, but I dont really care about playing online anyway so it dosent matter.

This. Had a go last night and it is really good. Single player was good with elements of the original at times but it is a new game. Multi was great fun, even 2 player split was a riot.

@rmoxon. I have also had some wrist pain from the Wii Remote in the past. However, I think it's really down to you to find a way of using it which doesn't strain it after repetitive use. I adjusted the way I used it (and also stopped using for extended sessions of bowling!) and I don't have the problem any more. Sorry I can't be more specific (exactly how I changed my use), but, like with mouse use it's all a question of using it in a comfortable way.

Was is me or did the ign video review say it was from the same dev studio as dead space extraction, cause looking at the animation and cutscenes they look the same style.

Yup, it's by Eurocom who did the highly decent Wii Dead Space game

Was appalled at this obvious cash in of a name from a brilliant FPS, back when it was first announced. It was the same as if someone was to remake Back To The Future with Zac Efron in the lead. In other words a shameless cash in. But whaddayaknow, a few reviews later, I'm actually buying this on its launch day.

Seemed like a great FPS with elements of exploration and trial not seen in todays super linear corridor shooters. Coupled with great Wii remote controls and tons of atmosphere, I think we might have a winner. I have only played through the tutorial so far, but I have already gotten a positive impression of the game. The graphics are more than decent compared to other Wii games, and the controls (using the Wii remote) seemed really responsive and accurate.

My only gripe - which isn't a problem with the game, rather the Wii - is that because of where I have my sensor bar placed, I have to point more downwards than what feels natural to me. I wish I had the option to customize this in the Wii settings, but the only options are "Above-" or "Below TV". Pretty weak IMO. I suppose I could place the bar lower, but that would make it more intrusive in my setup aesthetically and could mean that objects placed on my living room table could be in the way.

I guess what youre saying makes sense, though i dont really understand, Dosent everyone hold the wii remote (and a mouse for that matter) the same way?

Anyway, regardless I dont think thats my problem, these days even holding a lightgun out for too long (which is about 10 minutes) hurts my arms, it seems even at the (relativley) tender age of 27, in the videogame world I am an old man.
