And, from another point of view, the nude (especially the female nude) is a primary theme in most painting/illustration traditions.
I was being a little silly with the Viz quote, just making a joke, but I do think there's a little bit of safety in buying Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and the likes of Zoo and Nuts.

They're not quite "top shelf" magazines so they don't have the stigma attached, but they're not a million miles off.

I call them "penultimate shelf" magazines!

Are we off topic? Not sure. Personally, I don't find any of the Tecmo games sexy...

I don't know how anyone can find any games sexy, much like cartoons. I think people who get turned on by computer graphics should possibly consider leaving videogames alone for a bit and, in the words of Frank Butcher, have a word with themselves.

That's how I read it, though.

"Penultimate shelf" is really quite good. Better than what I was thinking--"not quite top shelf."

I would agree that I don't find any Tecmo game sexy, either, although it's difficult to deny that the female characters are 'easy on the eyes,' as they used to say. I think it's a lot of it is due to the issue of the uncanny valley, but Tecmo try to get around this by putting the characters in situations that can disguise this.

Platinum games tried to do something with Bayonetta, but somehow it didn't quite work. Maybe sexiness is something that has to be written in the script...

If Sarah Palin started dressing and talking like Bayonetta, I'd definitely want her to win the next US presidential election.
