    Why the hatred
Nagoshi-san is a huge part of the problem . Maybe he has other talents other than being arrogant, and always late for meetings.. who knows ?. All I know he is not a team leader and not what the consumer teams need.
Someone like Masayoshi Kikuch is really the man to lead and producer SEGA consumer staff , he's the real talent, not the past like Nagoshi-san

it sound like you work for SONY or something? SEGA are not as big as in their hayday now but if they took your attitude they'd all commit suicide tomorrow.
Anyone that speaks about against SEGA is a SONY fan ?. SEGA is fast dying, its name slowly being crushed and it now just a bye word on forums like this for a good old joke, and piss take , Oh lets take the piss out of SEGA and remember how Good they used to be . Its got nothing to do with size, Capcom have outclassed SEGA every step this generation , and SEGA have double the staff on the consumer side, and much more captial, let even on a techinal level Framework is miles ahead of SEGA tech . Look at a tiny corp like FromSoftware, they've been able to use more of the next gen than SEGA have to a large degree . Just not good enough anymore.

Only a few years ago Journalists and the gaming public would be falling over themself's to get interviews with SEGA staff , now its no-one gives a **** ...Oh Its SEGA, lets... move on;The one SEGA game most are talking about is made by Platinum .
SEGA needs to make a game that can work and appeal on the world stage, needs a next gen and multi platform engine . Sorry spending upwards of 30 million on each new Yakuza game, for a single platform and very limited appeal , isn't really going to cut it imo

30 million for something that doesn't have world wide appeal, and hardly break a million copies sold is indeed clueless. Its like Sega being with a lack of talent and vision, thus not daring to invest in something new. Capcom too relies on old IPs, but they did make Dead Rising which has mass appeal. And MT Framework.

Yakuza has great drama.. but some plot related parts i found to be cringe worthy. I also just hate looking for a dog or running after a kid amongst other things. Those things I can live without today. I gotta say that Mass Effect, Fable etc impress me more than Yakuza did. Nagoshi may say 5 will stir things up, but I doubt it seeing this is a yearly updated franchise.

When playing Y3 I thought about Shenmue, how it was actually further ahead than this. I mean the voice tracks from NPC's, more versatile dynamic weather and time system, more interaction in general. Shenmue was truly pushing hardware. Not to say Shenmue was being all that fun, because the overall pacing and directing was dire.

Looks like Kazuma will be back (again) as another playable character...

...and this time he has a .50 cal sniper rifle!

That's certainly... interesting. I guess well-done shooter parts couldn't hurt the game, after all modern criminals do use guns more than samurai swords. Probably.

I just don't think it fits Kazuma's character to blast heads off with that cannon...

Another new image, this time Akiyama, really looking forward to seeing where Sega are going with this, just wish they'd hurry up and reveal it.

The 4th character revealed is Ryuji Goda from Yakuza 2, interesting seeing as he was supposedly killed off, Nagoshi has also hinted about the new game depicting events following Yakuza 2

I vote for a thread title update!

GamesRadar+ takes you closer to the games, movies and TV you love.

Plus, new image taken from Famitsu. Speculation is that either Yakuza 5 is the last title in the franchise or the last to set in the same city

Interesting..... fits in with what Nagoshi mentioned about destruction in the next game, can't see it being an end to the series but possibly a fresh start with a new antagonist, wouldn't mind them expanding on Osaka in the next game after this one.

The game now has a name, they've dropped the 5 and it's now called Ryu Ga Gotoku of The End, the main site has been updated along with the new logo and some nice wallpapers and icons for your PC.

                          セガ「龍が如く OF THE END」公式サイト PS3専用ソフト アクションアドベンチャーゲーム。ストーリー、登場人物、キャスト紹介、トレーラームービーの配信。

Speaking of Yakuza, the US boxart that was shown last week for Yakuza 4 is fantastic, certainly better than any of the previous western releases, really hope the PAL version will be the same.

And points go to SEGA of America for putting some effort into the box art this time. Most of their PAL releases have pleasing box art. Valkyria Chronicles springs to mind immediately.

Definitely, hopefully the effort they've put into the artwork also goes into the localisation this time. Should do as the last game was moderately successful and they've been given a year instead of the 5-6 months Yakuza 3 was given. Yakuza 4 really deserves a big effort by Sega as I think overall it's even better than Yakuza 2.

I didn't know you used to work with him. He can be as late for his meetings as he wants, I love Yakuza /o/

Psyched about a game with Majima as the protagonist, but like others have said they just release these games too fast. I mean there's the PSP one coming out as well! A western city would be horrible but a San Andreas style mix of country and city would be amazing, although perhaps impractical.
