After the Summer of Love Arcade and playing very little except downloadable games that didn't require a disc, I'd forgotten how bloody loud this thing was.

Hurry up with this release MS, I don't want to be playing Fable 2 / Fallout 3 and Dead Space etc whilst battling to hear stuff over the drive noise.

Since you can access the current dash's blade system via the Guide button when this new dash launches, I wonder if that means you can tweak things like the sound settings without having to quit a game and go back to the dash like you currently have to do.

really so they are going to now support 16:10 lcd monitors as i would like to see that resolution option too so i dont have to have my monitor run 1280x720

I hope they add support for proper aspect ratio in 16:10 mode. When running at 1440x900 resolution (which is a 16:10 ratio), the games (which are natively 16:9) get stretched to full screen. Hopefully they'll add an option to maintain aspect ratio.

The bit about free games including Halo sounds like BS to me though I have to say.
