Rather than free games, MS should do the decent thing and make Live free. Being realistic, this rumour is probably little more than Chinese Whispers and fanboy wishful thinking.

What we do know is the new dash is coming, and with the HDD install, that should be enough for everyone! I'd have thought MS would be promoting the release more heavily if it was only a few weeks away. I expected to see it more in time to coincide with Gears 2.

Who wants to bet on another Megaton letdown come the 25th?

And I need to play through Mass Effect too - unfortunately, my console doesn't seem to like it too much and will have no problems with indicating it's displeasure with the disk by providing me with a series of very loud revving sounds, much worse than those given off by the console in it's default state.

If Gears 2 is anything like the first one then an install will be essential. That game made some really scary noises when spinning in the drive.

Good point, not heard. I'd assume it's possible as you can download games direct to the HDD, so technically no reason it can't be incorporated.
