Got my connect invite last night, installed this morning, love the disc instal option Tomb Raider Anniversary is much better with out the disc noise. Hate the way it looks. Friend came around this after noon - took one look at the screen and asked if we were going to play mario kart. lol. Guess it does look a bit nintyish but if you look at all the windows live adds (msn etc) it fits in well with all thosse themes

It's not going to be midnight anywhere, and I doubt they'll publicise the exact time because otherwise the service will be hammered by people logging on and off to get it first.

I guess we have every forum complaining that it's not up yet on the stroke of midnight to look forward to...

Does anyone know the extent of the temporary bannery on those who have "previews" of NXE? I mean, is the Live ban so that you can't play online, or that you can't GET online? If it's the former I might risk plugging back in, but if it's the latter how will it get back online come Wednesday?

There's not really any risk involved. Considering all you've done is install a version that they said wouldn't be able to get online. It's not hacked or anything. I've got it on my japanese box and that's connected to live, but not because of the block. You'll be fine on wednesday.

It's that your system won't get online at all. So there's no chat, friends list, marketplace etc. They're putting a block on accessing the Live services for anyone whos console ID isn't on an approved list.

People here who downloaded and installed the NXE unofficially, and then got in on the latest round of updates, found that they're system connected to Live automatically again once they'd been let in.

In theory (and in theory Communism works) that means anyone with it should be able to get back on Live with this Wednesdays roll out of the update. Unless it gets delayed because of Live's current technical problems...?

Jeeze where's all this xbox live banning confusion coming from?

Anyone who has got the NXE dashboard unofficially (Not by being a pre-release tester) will not be able to connect to xbox live until the 19th November.

From the email itself:

If an unregistered console is updated with the NXE update, that console will not be able to connect to Xbox LIVE until the NXE has been officially released on November 19th."

No-one is getting banned forever from Live because they have the NXE early without being a tester.

Redd Hogg i downloaded the NXE unofficial update and when accepted for the NXE beta i connected fine.
There was at some point some confusion there might of been a perma-ban but this is not the case so far. The recent bannings were all firmware related NOT NXE related.
Anyone else see Live melting around wednesday as 11 million or so people log on to get NXE??

doubt it will be 11 million probably less than 8 million. plenty people won't know about it, then lots won't be online, etc still probably will b a high number none the less

I reckon alot of people won't be online on the 19th. I reckon its going to crash xbox live and it will be down for maintenance for a couple of hours.

Dunno if anyone has noticed yet but if you change your theme to one of the new Gears of War 2 ones when you go to the friends section of the dashboard they are all standing behind Gears themed scenary. Pretty cool addition that!
