Yes this really really irks me in menus like this. How difficult is it to do wrap from last->first or first->last ?

I'll report back with some positive findings when I find some.
RB/LB buttons move from tab to tab with single presses or quickly go to the ends if you hold them down.

Not very. This one always annoys me in every game, console, interface that does it.

I've entered bug myself on games I've worked on that didn't do it...

Flabio, well played. Keep that up!

          Doesn't exist on my remote.

Chopemon, it's not signing in automatically - it takes me to the list of account when I turn on which I'm only interested in some of the time and I certainly don't want my kids signing in by accident. I'm retraining them to use the guide button (which does exist on my remote) which is quicker anyway.

Just curious, the people who were beta testing this, Were they just testing for stability or were they giving feedback on how it all was? As if it was the second option then why the hell didn't anyone tell microsoft it was wank & to go back & redesign it.

Love how when your not connected to live it uses that big square on the front dash to shove logging into live in your face instead, hmm i doubt i'll be renewing my gold sub when it expires.

            [edge]SUBSCRIPTION CANCELLED[/edge] LOL

It would have been stability only - there's no way in hell any amount of moaning in the Beta would have got them to fundimentally redesign stuff at that late stage.

I know a couple of people who were in the beta, they told Microsoft the design was wank, but as said, it was never going to change as it is fundamental to put everything for the future in line (Windows 8 etc) with the same look and feel. Some of the other bugs they reported however did get fixed, though I imagine plenty of other people reported them too.

The actual design isn't a problem, it's actually quite nice I think, thing is that everything is just so many layers deep.
By comparison the iOS app that just came out using the metro interface is really slick and nice to use on a touch screen

That's what I think as well, the design isn't bad at all, it's just used in the wrong way. If they would let me customise it I could make a great dash with it.

Wh-bam! Here's how to disable the ads, courtesy of Reddit:

tl;dr: You need to prevent your Xbox from accessing the domain rad.msn.com.
Inspired by this thread and the obnoxious video ads (yeah, seeing Chuck Norris' face on every f**king screen gets old fast), I took it upon myself to find an easy way to block them. There are multiple ways you can do this, but I'm going to use OpenDNS since it's probably the easiest:
                        • Sign up for an OpenDNS account (it's free).
                        • Add a network for your current IP address.
                        • Go to Advanced Settings and next to 'Domain Typos', check the box 'Enable typo correction' if it's not already checked and apply.
                        • Got to Web Content Filtering settings and set the filtering level to 'None', and under 'Manage individual domains', put rad.msn.com and select 'Always block' and then click 'Add domain'. Screenshot.
                        • On your Xbox, go to System Settings -> Network Settings -> (your connection) -> Configure Network -> DNS settings -> Manual, and enter the OpenDNS IP addresses for the primary and secondary DNS servers: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.
                        • You may need to clear your hard drive cache before ads disappear entirely: System Settings -> Storage -> Hard Drive -> press Y -> Clear System Cache (note that you'll have to re-download any title updates for any games you play after doing this).
                        • No longer pay to be advertised to.
You may also wish to configure your router to use OpenDNS' DNS servers via a static DNS setting, instead of setting it up on your Xbox. Doing so will block the ads for any device that connects to your network - so you don't have to configure them one-by-one.
One other note: If your IP address changes, you will need to update your OpenDNS network to match. If that happens frequently, you probably want the OpenDNS updater.
Alternatively, your may find it easier to configure your router to block the domain by using its site blocking or website filtering options. It has been reported to work for DD-WRT and Netgear routers, but not Linksys and possibly others, so your results may vary. To test if it will be blocked successfully, try to load https://rad.msn.com/. If the page fails to load, gives you a 404 error, or you get a security error (like this), then it's blocked. If you getthis 403 error, it's not blocked.

Hahah. Genius. I already use opendns because it's generally faster. Added that domain.

So of i get a kinect i can just say "piece of ****" and the dashboard will uninstall So whats all the ad money that microsoft gets going on as it certainly isn't going into reducing the yearly gold sub thats for sure.

I think microsoft are in for quite a shock if they think that this is the future & people are going to go OMG i love it. I actually got my 360 to "wait for it!" PLAY GAMES as did most people. I don't want a crappy social network hub where i need to know what everyone is doing at every single second a la facebook, beacons are horrible too.

I now have my 360 set to autoboot for games as i no longer want to use the dashboard as it winds me up everytime i see it.
