Was looking forward to this from magazine previews but it all looks so standard now. Yes there is nothing wrong with a bit of hack and slash but once again I was hoping for something new.

**** sake. I've got to go to bed now and the demo is just up. Typical.

The combat in this is supposed to be leaps and bounds over anything seen in an RPG so far. And there looks to be a lot of customisation from these videos, something sorely missing from both Obliviwank and Skywank.

PC demo is now up on Origin, but I won't be playing this evening thanks to Sky throttling the crap out of my connection between 5-10 pm....

The demo was what I expected. Not blown away but the thing I'm looking for at the moment.
Minor niggle with the Camera and the Character being so disjointed. I understand the reason behind it but I don't like it.

I froze the demo, 50/50 me and the game. Loading of the next level chunk didn't occur and only a temporary blocking volume existed between me and the void. I forced myself past and got a few meters then Boom, (Spider area, Third or fourth cobweb).

i am actually enjoying the demo dunno how big or expansive the full game is compared to say skyrim but feels like a cross between fable/gothic series/torchlight/skyrim

A mix of Folklore, God of War and Dragon Age.

I can see a lot of people liking this but it's not for me. Don't like the graphical style - reminds me of Fable. It's like GoW but not as good and it's like DA:O but not as good. Camera is an issue for me. Aiming spells seemed cumbersome and I suspect it will be really linear (walls and doors collapsing behind you). As usual in these things your answers to questions in conversations have no effect on the outcome, example:

Bloke : Let me see your fate!
                      Me : I don't believe in fate
Bloke : Oh I know your scared but..
                      Me : No
                      Bloke then reads my fate

I'm not criticising this game in particular for that; just disappointed that once again the choices are largely meaningless. I tried winding him up earlier by telling him he was rubbish, drunk etc. He didn't care.

Switching weapons was extremely cumbersome. Was there a fast way to switch between e.g. a staff and a sword as the main weapon?

Lastly, I've been down on this but it actually is unique in what it does and I reckon some folk will really like it. Worth a demo for sure.

Todd McFarlane directed the art so it's an acquired taste. Also of note is that Grant Kirkhope did the score (Perfect Dark man) which means I'm going to be wiping the game all over my willy as soon as I lay my hands on it at the game shop.

They're reckoning a single play-through will take around 200hrs. That sounds too good to be true. If it is that big let's see if it has as many bugs as Skyrim (couldn't resist).

Desperate to get home and try this. I'm going to take my time with the 45min limit for the first go, and then after that I'm going to cane the arse out of it to see how far I can go.

Really glad of a demo. I'll be able to dig into the roots of all the 'class' systems to see what path I want to go down for the retail release. Can't wait to try 'Reckoning Mode', just the name makes me smile, especially when pronounced the way I say it... "Recknin'".

                          Please be good!!

                          Please!

Was the dual meaning of that statement deliberate?

The demo sold me on the game, i will likely skip XIII-2 for now and go with this one instead.

The demo itself is really good, some bugs aside. Starts off with some story, tutorials of most playing styles, a boss battle and then 45 minutes of roaming. Excellent.
