History of Nintendo book, now in english YAY

A while back somebody (sorry can't remember poster) showed an awesome book on the history of Nintendo, however the books were only available in french. Well not anymore as it looks like they got loads of people begging them to translate them into english as thats exactly what they are doing.

First one is available to preorder, out 25 of august. Bought one & will get the others as they come out as they are very cool if your a fan of Nintendo.

Just thought i'd give people a heads up.

Cool- I might just pick that up. Having just had a quick squiz at the website, it says the second and third instalments are in the works, but it looks like the third book hasn't come out even in French yet. Is that right?

That arcade book looks interesting too. The site says the interviews and stuff have been translated into French from English originals (by folk from Kotaku apparently). Anyone know if the book was originally published in English, or is it just a case of the raw material has been translated into French and then compiled into a book?

I only ask because I think I'd rather read the original text than potentially dodgy translations. That said, the English editions are more expensive, so presumably the translation wasn't done for nowt by fans and it could actually be decent...

Ordered - Thanks for the tip Importaku. I hope this is a start of translating all their books they release; I like the look of their Biography on Gunpei Yokoi pre-order.

Does it document their spiral into mediocrity after the Super Nintendo ? consider me sold if so.

I'd rather have a reprint of Sheff's Game Over. The big volume edition.

Fantastic book. Never would've thought that legal wrangling over something like Tetris could be such a compelling read.

Agreed, although I've only ever read the free edition that came with Arcade Magazine.

Yeah don't worry, they get your address from your paypal account so they know where to deliver to. Although the site says they are in stock it's still on preorder as they havent released it yet. If you look close you will see the release date in brackets. Yeah book 2 is the G&W years but i hope they keep going i'd love to see the famicom & super famicom covered too. They really are lovely books, i was tempted enough when they were in french but im so happy that they decided to go translate them to english. I hope enough sell to convince them to do it with the other books they have done.
