I got mine on Friday and while i have not put a lot into it yet its damn interesting, from what i have read and i so want a Nintendo candy floss maker and some of those game and watches look great, i never knew about the Donkey Kong Hockey one.

On the down side the translation is not 100% but it is only the odd word or sentence that does not make sense.

It was nice that they put a little thank you post it in and i will certainly be getting the next ones from what i have read. I would love them to continue as i am very interested to find out more about the SNES era.

I knew quite a few of the old nintendo toys but there are shedloads i never even knew existed, it's a treasure trove of cool pics, a museum in book form. Yeah i noticed a few odd translation errors but i can forgive them as they are not that bad really. Lets face it, im just happy it's in english hehe

It's interesting to hear the history of nintendo from purely a japanese standpoint as they don't cover the western history at all, already knew of the western side. Definately getting the others in the series as they come out. Just wished that their magazine was translated too as they are just as excellent, you can tell that the people who create these books & mags really do love the hobby. Yeah you might want to take note of that Edge. lol

Why is it 1889 to 1980 and not 1989? 91 years seems odd.

Because it's not just one book the second book in the series continues where the first one left off. They probably had their reasons hehe

Cant wait for the rest of the volumes especially book 4 as thats covering the gameboy.

Ah okay, I guess 1980 is because that's when Nintendo properly started in the game development world

Agreed. Hopefully they'll translate the rest of the books into English. Needless to say they'd all be bought by me.

Got mine through the letter box just now Only ordered it at the end of last week so didn't think it'd come so soon, for some reason though i kind of thought it'd be a4 sized (not complaining though ).

Looking forward to reading it later.

Finished this last night, was a really enjoyable read.

I thought it would have been a bit easier to read though if they had kept the history to one section and the product information to the other. When reading it i flicked backwards and forwards to skip the products and to carry on reading the history.
Seemed like the history became a bit thin towards the end as well, whereas the hanafuda part seemed to drag on forever (wasn't the most interesting part for me).

A lot of products i never knew much about or didn't know about at all, kept bugging my friend to bid on stuff for me on Yahoo Auction every time i got to a new section of the book.

Looking forward to the second book.
