    Another US 360 owner.

Main reason for having it is for my annual NCAA football fix (NCAA>Madden), Death Smiles and a few other games that haven't made it over here yet (Deadly Premonition, RFA, HOF Pinball etc)....and I missed the fun of tracking a console hitting these shores & putting one over on 'the man'

Basic things such as getting the release dates somewhat syncronised, and making sure all versions are of the same quality (50Hz/60Hz, 480p etc) have done far more to encourage people to buy domestic than previous heavy-handed approaches ever did.

The PS3 is region free, yet most of us still opt to buy domestic because it's usually simpler. It is pretty trivial for anyone to make their Wii region free (you don't even need Gecko these days), yet I'd only bother to import if there was a difference in release date. The 360 is the pain in the ass this generation, since there's plenty of Japanese games that are locked, and a fair games that reach the states but not Europe. Importing the hardware remains the only realistic solution for the 360.

The fact that hardware reliability had plummeted also afffects matters/

Sitting on a train representing the last leg of my journey home from Japan with a new 250GB 360 resting against my knees and a bag full o'shooters and idol management games. I need to look into softmodding my Wii, though, as I also have Another Code:R and Fatal Frame IV in the bag.

I have a JPN 360 but thats because I live in Japan however I import all western titles from hong kong because they are release before Japan and cheaper even after express shipping. But the real beauty is that I can not only get all western games (apart from sports but I hate sport games anyway) region free but also all the JPN exclusive shooters!

Getting a JPN 360 really is the best option. ALL Hong Kong releases are compatible with the JPN 360 and they get pretty much everything that the UK or states get.

Oh, I also have a US PS3. Bought that for region A blu-rays more than anything else.

My biggest reason for buying a PS3 this generation was because it was region free.
