60 frames-per-second and able to "kill anything done on the Xbox or PlayStation 2."

That'll look crazy good on a tiny iPhone screen

          Well his original tweet was.
"I'm showing something neat and unannounced at quakecon tomorrow. Deciding if I should leave it be or sneak a little more code in..."

Iphone RAGE was neat and unannounced, from that tweet he didn't promise a BIG REVEAL.

Does anyone really care about Rage? its just another wasteland game, by the time it comes out it'll be out of date.

The rage game does look rather generic, but I suppose it's just a vehicle for the engine really

I think Carmack admitted himself they're out of the engine leasing days, everyone goes for UE3 or whatever. I remember them saying they were going back to just making games and not tech demos for their engines.

I wish they'd do something as cool as quake 3 again. sigh

But the Rage game looks so boring. Yawn across the tundra

Well that was dissapointing, was literally waiting a year for a promised Doom 4 unveiling and they give a (admitedly impressive) tech demo of a game that hasn't really looked all that interesting on a platform where you'll be fighting with the controls the whole time.

If they couldn't get doom and Wolfenstein to control comfortably, I don't think they're going to get somthing more complex working well.

Blimey. I wonder if he could get it running on the 3DS.

Of course, the 3DS is infinitely powerful and renders polygons with a special GPU comprised of childrens smiles.

Fallout 3 was out of date at the time it came out and it didn't hurt it.
