    BioShock Infinite

Irrational Games has confirmed its next game - BioShock Infinite.

Due for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2012.

    Trailer: http://www.whatisicarus.com/trailer.php

It's set in 1912 in an airborne city called Columbia. Looks like there'll be plenty of AI co-op antics with your character augmenting his powers with a CPU partner's.

Looks like an embargo's just been lifted so there's plenty of news floating about right now.

Really enjoyed the new trailer, it certainly looks the part! While I was expecting a whole new IP from Irrational Games I can't argue with this

I'm trying to muster excitment for this. Will it be like the first, where you're shown this awesome, sprawling and vertical city, and then given a narrow linear path to follow that takes away any sense of scale? Give us a city to explore this time, Levine!

That trailer pushes so many excitement buttons. I already can't wait and it's 2 piggin' years away.

Rad to have Levine on board, too.

2012 seems so far away. A lovely trailer and if they can keep up the style it will be a smash hit.
          Ken Levine said
"BioShock Infinite was designed from scratch; there's not a single line of code we wrote or asset we created that existed in a previous BioShock game."

well system shock is in space...bioshock underwater....guess it makes sense next one in the sky (then followed by a bioshock game set underground)

all i will ask is FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IF YOU SPEND SO MUCH TIME ON STORY AND ATMOSPHERE MAKE THE ENDING DECENT

Look Mister Bubbles there's a new trailer.....
Nice touch with the Big Daddy in the fish tank, looks good but 2 years is a long time, good to have Ken back , the story will be good with a decent ending.

A good ending in a bioshock game? Don't be silly

So, like, is this Bioshock 3 effectively?

The trailer looks interesting but I have to admit, having only just played through the first two Bioshock games, the look didn't in any way push the right buttons for me in the way Rapture did. And the characters (well, I only really took a good look at the girl, what with the cleavage and all) look very cartoony. And, on top of all that, the description on the site says the character "must learn to fight foes in high-speed Sky-Line battles, engage in combat both indoors and amongst the clouds, and harness the power of dozens of new weapons and abilities." While it's totally unfair to make any judgement based on a single line in a larger synopsis, it sounds like Bioshock's Silent Hill 3. Everyone loved the haunting narrative in SH2, so this time we're giving you loads of combat and bigger and better guns.

But maybe that was already Bioshock 2.

But 2012 is a whole world away. Aside from the fact that I could be long dead by then, there's a loooooong time for development and, given the quality of most (but not all) of Bioshock, I would be expecting this to be bloody great. I just wish it was sooner.

Maybe they'll chuck out a Bioshock 3 in Rapture to shamelessly rake in some cash in the meantime. I wouldn't be against that.

And, yeah, I agree with Eastyy's last sentence.

                          Nice.

Love the tease that gives and it's a sufficient change of scenery to warrant it's existence (nice fake-out at the beginning too!).

You know, the location kind of looks like a Final Fantasy game.

They just need sone giant angel wings and random pagan and Christian references and you've got yourself a fantastic jrpg world
