    It sounds cool!

This is the team that made the 1st game right, not 2?

      Metroid Prime series.

But they had an extremely solid set of design rules in that. Platforms had to be a minimum size, couldn't be more than a certain distance away and you rarely had a situation where it took you more than 30 or so seconds to get back to where you were.

Yeah, Prime did it really well. So it can be done. Not saying I want them to exactly but, given the setting, I wouldn't be against it if they did it well.

This is much, much more what i was hoping for in a bioshock sequel. You can almost feel the love of old fashioned values and narrative in his blog post:

That looks very impressive and a great switch to what we know of the Bioshock name.

The demo of Bioshock was stunning and completely got me on board with the game. I got about 4 hours into the world and loved the art, audio, and story but became tired of the combat, seemingly endless need to hack and the tired level design. I gave up and did not return. However after spotting the Bioshock 2 SE for cheap, and the critical appraisal the game received whereby it was nowhere near as fresh but was a better game, I decided to order it this week and is on its way. Hopefully, it's a better game than the original.

If Irrational have learnt some lessons over Bioshock, but now deliver on a completely original environment, then this could be very special.

Going by the trailer, there's potential for Elizabeth to be some kind of Elika-like safety net, catching you if things go awry with the platforming.

Also, if they're able to translate some of the grabbing and clinging on to fabric, etc. as it tears away from whatever its attached to (hopefully without any QTEs) then it could potentially be incredibly exciting.

Seeing as that trailer was all CG, i very much doubt they will do any of that, contextual fabric that tares, would take them years just to get that one feature right, not to mention god knows how many reasorses performance wise.

In fact i would be very surprised if your allowed to fall out the city full stop, pre designated gliding points are more likely.

It's definitely looking nice. Something's not right with the shoulder joints on the characters in a couple of the pics, making them look like real early models. But the setting looks great.

                      First ingame video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APBlbGm5ATw
Full length video being released on 360 and xbox.com on Tuesday.

                      Do want.
(don't want to wait 18 months for it - why release footage so soon?)

Why would they spoil this again?

One thing I'm hoping with Bioshock Infinite is that they stay true to the confederecy style ultra-patriotism meets steampunk theming. I don't want to see the designers add personal politics and put in thinly veiled attacks on republicans.

Bioshock was clever in the way it showed the flaws inherent in extreme capitalism.

Ten minutes of ingame footage straight from the 360 marketplace.

Looks absolutely stunning, even if that sequence was heavily scripted. Seems to be full of really cool ideas. So far away though!

Absolutely gorgeous. I'm kinda surprised they're showing that this early though, it seems the early reveal trend is bolstering up in force again
