So what does Gears 3 play like? Much difference to Gears 2? I'm hoping for faster run speed...

never mind Mafia- what about the Assassin's Creed demo pods? There were hundreds of the bleddy things. It seems like Ubisoft booked half of the venue just to fill it with Assassin's Creed-related stuff.

Though DKC Returns and Kirby are pretty enough to look great anyway.
I spent most of the day lurking the LBP2 booth watching the big-cheese community members make crazy things. I didn't feel like queuing to play games which already have downloadable demos, or stuff which will be released in a matter of weeks.
Non-LBP2 games I played at the expo: a few cool things at the Indie Arcade. GT5 purely to see the 3D effect- though the 3D was bust on the demo pod I nabbed. Crysis 2 - men with guns. Killzone 3 - more men with guns.
I watched someone play Killzone 3 in 3D, but as Decider-VT said the effect wasn't very convincing. Although I think I'd put it down to the 3DTVs they used rather than the game itself.
I went to the Killzone 3 developer conference to see if I could get excited about the game. I learned that it is a game about men with guns. The expected FPS feature-set is present and correct
The Media Molecule conference was full of win.

You just wait - round about now the publisher will be worried. Unless there's significant improvement and quickly, Crytek will have no option but to start ripping things out of the console version.

The game was due for this year remember, the 6 month delay may well be to spend time getting it running properly.
Crytek's record has been of uncompromising effects at the expense of framerate (and I'd argue gameplay, lol). Crysis still hurts PCs!

I've just played through Crysis Warhead and it looks stunning and runs well on my laptop. Can only imagine it runs better on a desktop. That's now of course. On release, things were likely different. But, right now, it's pretty much the best looking game I've seen so they don't really need to reach much higher.Last edited by Dogg Thang; 03-10-2010, 12:05.

Crysis on 360 looked like generic shooter X - didn't have a problem with framerate (30fps I'd say)
LBP *looked* like LBP so I failed to get excited.
Everything in 3d looked gash.
So badly laid out I didn't even know inFamous 2 was there.
I discovered that non-active 3d glasses let in a shadow of the wrong frame so there was ghosting around everything. One of my friends also saw this, the other said he couldn't see it.
GT5 in 3d reduces it from looking like a graphical masterpiece to a 2007 EA driving game.
Killzone 3 in 3D seems to halve both the framerate and resolution.
Dragon Age 2 looked like you'd expect it to.
Interesting section on gaming for those with disabilities. Eye controlled driving game and another device that you either:
A. smack the massive red button on the left to steer left, and the massive blue button on the right to steer right
or, more likely
B. Sit on the device and tilt left and right to play
Anyway, was nice to see some effort put into this
4 demo pods of Trials HD on 360
Marvel vs Capcom 3 (arcade cabs by the look of it) looked pretty sweet!
Not as good as last year for me.

I was honestly very, very shocked at the poor quality of it.That looks much better than anything I saw running on the pods at the expo.

To be fair, I'm sure the gameplay is excellent if you play it properly. But you'll need to be in the market for an apocalypse-themed FPS involving military dudes shouting at each other.
