New Titles to be announced at VGA (Was New Bioware title)

thread edit - Changing thread to general VGA (Videogame awards) thread of rumours 'n stuff. Last year we got the announcement to new batman and first footage of Halo Reach so it is the real deal. Originally deals with new Bioware title but it looks like we get plenty more games on the 11th too

There is a reveal on the 11th December (Spike awards) but EA\Bioware have started hyping it up. I can't be the only one thinking\hoping for Mass Effect 3...but what's been shown so far doesn't strike me as from the ME universe.

They also put out this, which is, er...nice.

    From VG247
RockPaperShotgun translated the binary to text, and it comes out with the atomic weight of iron with the numbers 55.845, which is the atomic weight of iron and as well all known iron makes steel.
Steel is also a word in ?Shattered Steel? which is a 1996 BioWare game with mechs.

Then there?s also these tweets from RPS:
Latest Bio-tweet translates to -128.5?F. Which is the coldest temperature ever recorded on Earth. Vostok, Antarctica on July 21, 1983
There is a system called Vostok in Mass Effect 1
So is it for Mass Effect? Shattered Steel? At this point only BioWare knows and they?re killing us a little.

    HMMMMMM

Ryan from Giant Bomb suggests that it isn't Mass Effect 3 but it is Mass Effect related. That could be right.

Some dude in the Kotaku comments pointed out that the rifle looks like the Incisor rifle from some ME2 DLC.

      Scanning the barcode gives you

      001101010011010100101110001110000011010000110101

      which apparently translates to 55.845
which is the atomic mass of iron...

Space marines with guns. Looks like Mass Effect to me.

          It really does

I'm ready for more Mass Effect, whatever form it takes. A spin off would be great - the universe they've created is certainly rich and diverse enough to support it.

Nah, its shattered steal for sure. They have always wanted to get back to it and they have been mentioning it on and off.

It is going to be Jade Empire 2.

              I mean, come on.

Clear as day from that 2 second clip.

I call Mass Effect 3 judging by the first pic in the thread, definately looks like the incisor rifle as noted, but the guy to me definately looks like Sheppard in film form.

I went to the Bioware studios this year and our guide walked us round the studios past an area that we later learned were not allowed near, there was some ME3 storyline ideas/flow charts all over 1 wall so it's pretty obvious it was being made, wish I'd paid more attention and read more of the little snippets before I realised what it was (I thought it was just ME2 stuff at first) and we got ushered along.

There was also mention of something else completely new* they were working on so this could still be that.

                * They didn't say new IP specifically so could still be a previous franchise.

The thing is Shattered Steel is quite similar in genre compared to Mass Effect.

Bioware Montreal is apparently recruiting for a multiplayer shooter. Word on the street is that it is a multiplayer Mass Effect spin off.

Pwning n00bs as a Krogan. What's not to love?

                      "SHEPARD".

I would love to see a Mass Effect spin off game. As Shepard you are always space travelling to all these different planets, yet only touch a fraction of their lore and fiction. Therefore, I'd love to play a game that focuses on one man/woman on one or two planets; maybe like Blade runner as well, where you can actually go down in the streets of cities; kind of like a more micro version of Mass Effect, with lots of detective work.

I'd like a courtroom drama comedy version of mass effect, where you have to defend all of you bad choices that resulted in people dying in a military court.

A multiplayer shooter, you say BioWare?

Now that's certainly a market that hasn't yet been filled to the brim with competition from companies that are actually specialised in shooters.

Well, as long as it won't affect the development of ME3 in any way, I couldn't really care less.

                              THIS! Totally this.

What you describe is exactly what I find myself wanting more of when playing ME 1 or 2. There is too much filler and random gunfights and not enough exploring and interaction with other people.

But alas, it will probably be a multiplayer shooter...
