Collectors edition announced...and suddenly preorders for the standard edition increase!

For months many of you have asked for details on whether or not there will be Collector’s Edition for Skyrim. At the end of a rousing QuakeCon presentation, game director Todd Howard confirmed its existence.

The limited collector’s edition for The Elder Scrolls? V: Skyrim™ will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, and Games for Windows and can be pre-ordered now through participating retailers in North America, Europe and Australia. Like the regular release of the game, the Collector’s Edition will be available on 11.11.11

*Alduin Statue: Created in conjunction with the IP Factory, this collector’s only statue stands 12” tall and is made of high quality PVC. I can get a far better looking dragon statue for half that price. Normal edition for me.

Yep, ?129.99 is over milking it especially in light of some of the good CE prices floating around this Xmas. It's far too generic looking a statue to remotely warrant inflating the price too. No chance.

Bless em, at least they tried. I can imagine the lead up to this... literally no one knowing about it, no one having a clue - usually the dev team and the marketing team arent one and the same... and then suddenly BAM, its revealed to a room full of white, pale faces.... but everyone knows its too late to question, everyone knows so much money has already been spent, so they all smile and nod, and go back to their desks... with a hollow feeling inside.

Would be very cool to have the cloth map layed out in front of me on a table while playing the game. I'd rather be planning where to go from an actual map instead of a digitial one full of waypoints and hints.

Got to see 30 odd minutes of this, before it got pulled. Game just looks stunning in almost every way. November cant come soon enough for me now.
