Was there any talk of them coming back again? If there was, could someone please let me know *before* tickets are on sale?

It's almost a dead cert they'll play London again next year, I believe it's the only venue to sell out, and within under 60 minutes at that, We checked Edinburgh the morning of the day it was to play (Sunday 4th) and loads of tickets were available. During the night they announced new dates for Europe too (Vienna was one). So DW is growing each year. Tickets have gone on sale around March both years, and announced about 2 weeks before, March is also when the current tour ends.

Bit disappointed that they only played 'The Dalmasca Estersand' from XII - really, of all the great tracks on XII?

Yeah, The Lady and myself loved it all but still felt a little disappointed by the track choice compared to last year (though probably some rose-tinted glasses action going on there as well). Just felt like the celebration format of touching every game limited the setlist as there are some outstanding tracks that have to be cut when you can only really fit one from each game.

Thinking already felt beforehand the One Winged Angel is overrated, so I'm always a bit disappointed when it turns up; I brought a load of friends withme this time and as 7 fans its a shame they didn't get to hear Opening ~ Bombing Mission which is absolutely outstanding live (maybe partly because it hadn't really been arranged much prior to DW).

That being said, there was still a whole lot to adore here. The new Uematsu arrangements are so much better than the Roth arrangements its unreal. Some of the Roth ones used previously I feel miss the feel and mood of the original tracks (I had huge expectations for JENOVA last year but was left underwhelmed by the drumkit-heavy arrangement, for example). I'm glad DW is getting the attention and investment it deserves in that respect. The orchestra was bang on as well; in other concerts like DW and the Zelda anniversary last year, you could kind of see the production limitations in the it felt like the orchestras only had a very limited time to learn and rehearse the pieces with duff notes and odd mixing on occasions, but they were spot on this year (I distinctly remember Battle On The Bridge sounding very odd last year but this year's rendition was on the money). They had to slow the tempo of the faster-paced battle themes to get that accuracy (Don't Be Afraid in particular was slowed right down) but kudos to them all, it sounded fantastic throughout.

They'll be back and I'll buy more tickets for sure. I also hope they'll try to expand the set list even further with more new arrangements as i've missed not having so many orchestral arrangement albums as the osts in later games get closer to live quality so I mostly like just having something new to listen to as well.

I feel like I need a klaxon or something to announce this, but via a S-E email I got yesterday I was alerted to www.ffsymphony.com

The LSO playing music from VI, VII and X? I am there. I will also be leaving my dignity at the door, and joining the great unwashed in trying to get Uematsu to sign my 25th Anniversary boxset.

The concert would be fun enough, but having noone to experience it with is boring! Plus travelling to an from Wales to do it isn't appealing haha

I'd put myself up in a swanky hotel and just go to town, making sure i told the wife what was happening and if she wants to stay in semi boring Wales then let her while i enjoyed a great night out and London night life

I'd save up a ton of cash and blow it all on coke and strippers/whores. I'd likely forget why I was in London in the first place.

God damn, why could this not be a weekend performance?

Gone for it anyway, if work won't give me time off then I'll just sell the ticket on - a rare opportunity to watch the LSO perform something like this and a decent chance to meet Uematsu without paying a small fortune is not to be missed!

So, anyone else manage to make this latest show? The performance was fantastic, some original renditions made even better by the brilliant LSO. Such a treat to be able to meet nobuo and masashi as well. Gutted there was no photography allowed, but I now have my ffvii, ffxiii-2 Le soundtracks signed, along with my 3ds xl and some concert related memorabilia. Hopefully they do another show there, some rather disappointed latecomers unceremoniously told to clear off at 7pm when the signing was over.

One to cross off the things to do before I die list, heroes met. Totally not disappointed :-)

Went to A New World two weeks ago or so and it was brilliant. They had a great set lost and got to meet and greet too

Next Distant World is scheduled for 1st November 2014 with tickets going on sale this Friday at 10. I'm unsure if I should drop ?145 to meet them again.
