It didn't play like Rally, didn't handle like Rally and didn't look like SEGA Rally. It wasn't SEGA Rally. I thought Revo was pretty **** myself
I thought it was brilliant and one of the best arcade racers of this generation. ****? That's a ****ing reach really but I'll agree to disagree.

Don't listen to captain negative, he never has anything good to say about anything unless it's 10+ years old

They were hoping work on a update, they were working on a brand new IP racer with some of the most incredible Tech around, but it was leaving the PR team baffled on how they would sell the concept.

Sure Sumo deserve credit on the ports (just like any corp that does a good port) but its still a port, and that's a completely different to designing your own racer

Yes ****, and well there's not many Arcade racers this gen, but give me the likes of Initial D, Blur, PGR3, OutRun Online any day of the week, I found 2006 more enjoyable too and that was pretty lame by all accounts

Not really. I do have SEGA Rally Revo though, unlike Captain Positive

Agreed, Also have to give credit to SOL and the rest of Sumo, as they did a great job on the Outrun and Virtua Tennis conversions aswell. It`s just lately that every game Sega announces, makes you cringe (Vanquish the exception).

I remember them doing an open survey online of what titles you want to see on Arcade a few months back, and everyone pretty much said the same answers (you know what they are) and what do you know they pretty much ignored everyones requests.

Put it this way, do you think their would be a bad word to say in this thread or any other thread over the internet, if Sega was announcing perfect ports of Sega Rally 1 or 2 for arcade instead of this?

I wonder if SEGA have ever discussed an online version of their NASCAR friendly rebranding of Daytona USA with Sumo Digital? I still have no idea why they released that. By all accounts it's worse than the Model 2 version and without the funky music and branding. They hardly sold any.

Trust me, we continue to suggest Daytona (or even a best of SEGA Racers) to SEGA, and yes, we've even suggested converting SEGA Racing Classic.

I don't think we did too bad with Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing either - which ironically is now an arcade game (due for release March) and runs on the same RingWide platform as SEGA Racing Classic :P Talk about going full circle!

You've suggested to Sega about creating a classic racing collection?

I love Sumo even more now!

Sega Racing Classic is Daytona without the Daytona. Google it.

I have to admit i thought revo would be a big pile since it was subed out. Its been the best racing game since f zero gx for me i thought the handling was excellent loved the way when you where drifting mentaly round a corner and you hit the tarmic it just gets so much traction and you just power out of it.
Ive put quite a bit of time into the time trail and the track deformation is'nt a issue like previously stated .

I also think Revo is a rubbish game. The handling/feel is all wrong - and the frame rate just isn't good enough. It's funny how they changed it from 30fps to 60fps for the arcade version. The whole game is ok on the surface, but as an experience.. it's unsatisfying in every way.

I wanted to like it, as I love the series and arcade racers, but when something feels so wrong.. you can't help but dislike it.

I would definitely like to see a Sega Racing Megamix. Of course.. it would have to run at 60fps. All this 30fps malarkey is ridiculous.

Sega Rally HD would be nice. I'd like it to include all the tracks from 1 & 2. With solid online racing - it would be a must-have.

Revo just lacks oomph, but framerate isn't everything. GT5's ****ty framerate (sloppy with 16 premiums, at night stages, in cockpit etc) annoys me more than the ones in PGR and Hot pursuit. And those games feel much faster too.

Revo just doesn't excite and a proper arcade mode is missing too.
