Armored Core 5 - Calling all Chrome Hounds

No thread already by the looks of things.

Well buckle up kids, this is what the GOTY looks like.

As you can see from the rest of the screenshots, the game has parachuting mechs and some kind of online map that reminds me of Chrome Hounds (hubba hubba).

      - Bandai Namco Games is publishing this outside of Japan.

      - The gameplay will involve the player forming teams with other players and fighting it out online.

      - The objective in the game is territorial conquest.

      - The My Garage system allows you to upgrade you mechs.

      - The mech part designs are brand new.

      - The main component of the game is online play.

      - The online play here is different from normal online multiplayer because it has no separate modes. By being a single seamless online mode, it makes it much easier for players to get online and start playing.

      - There is a single player option.

      - The main objective of the game is for your team to capture the territory of another team.

      - You can set up defenses in your territories beforehand. If no players are online in a team, the defenses become the enemies for other players trying to take it.

      - Teams are made up of 5 players. In combat there will be 4 players controlling mechs, while the remaining player serves as the commander and operator for the team.

      - There will be something similar to Overweapons from AC4.

      - There is a huge amount of content in the game.

      - Release date is 2011.

Looks good but was disappointed with the frame rate on For Answer, went down to about 1fps on some levels - PS3.

Ah lets not turn this into another framerates thread, let's just agree that 1fps with nicer gfx and blur is just as good as 30fps without...

If this turns out to be awful the squad will hunt you down and squish you choppers!

i have always found the AC games slow, clunky and pretty boring TBH (and i have played them all from the first)

Chromehounds was better. The satic screenshots (AC5) look abit like GT5 photos in 'replay mode'ie heavily processed, so i wouldnt get too excited

                  hopefully i'm proved wrong though

Looks a bit Rainbow Unicorn, but hopefully it will play nicely (with a invert option!). May have to investigate that Mechwarrior 5?

This is most definitely Armored Core 5, so why is everybody acting as if it is/expecting it to be Chromehounds 2?

This is not the Chromehounds we are looking for.

The Chrome Hounds reference comes from the persistent online war that is going on.
