The only way this is ever going to happen is if MS funds Sega.
Does a deal with them: have Shenmue 3 Xbox exclusive, and have Sega make a bunch of exclusive Connect games.

Aside from that, the only other option I could see to bring this game to fruition would be develop it as a 3DS title, which obviously would cost a lot less, tho be a bit of a let down after originally being cutting edge.

I'd be happy if Shenmue 3 looked visually the same as Shenmue 1 and 2, was released on 3DS, had basically the same gameplay but finished the story.

It'd make just as much sense for Sony to fund this. PS3 already has the Yakuza games so they've got an engine working already at least and could probably use 50% of the assets too.

As much as I've Shenmue 3, I really don't think I trust Sega with the series anymore. I'd rather them leave it alone than tarnish the series.

Then again, with Yu Suzuki at the helm, maybe it could work.

Release them as Wii 2 HD launch titles then. You know you want to open cupboards and pop open toy capsules using the Wii-mote. ;p

This needs to be made. Everytime I hear some Shenmue 3 news I check there, see this stuff again and sigh.
