Resident Evil 4 + Code Veronica HD Remake

Andriasang have mentioned a 'Resident Evil Revival Selection', consisting of HD versions of Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica. Their source is a Famitsu listing.

I'm sure most people will go nuts over a HD version of Resident Evil 4 (and I'd love to play it myself), but as a classic Resi nut, I'm more interested in Code Veronica!

Exciting news all round, both games are awesome!
Would be nice to revisit Code Veronica, haven't played it since completion of the original Dreamcast version, same as Resident Evil 4 too.
    Finished them and didn't replay.
Would be epic if they did an ENTIRE Resident Evil Revival/Remastered Collection.

I think the main thing that would hold them back with regards to a HD remake of RE1/2/3/REmake/0 is the fact that they all use pre-rendered backgrounds, thus the backgrounds would be a fixed resolution. It could be done, but the polygon characters would be a much higher resolution than the backgrounds. This was evident with the Dreamcast version of Resident Evil 2 - the game was 640x480, but the backgrounds were a much lower resolution, so the characters stood out a mile.

Code Veronica was completely realtime, so they could do a HD version quite easily. I think Code Veronica was extremely underrated anyway so I'd love to see more people experience it.

        Confirmed.

"PS3 and Xbox 360 multiplatform title does indeed include two classic RE games: Resident Evil Code: Veronica Director's Cut and Resident Evil 4"
"Both versions will appear in "HD remastered" form. The magazine apparently shows comparison pics between the two versions. For Resident Evil 4, the magazine confirms that the game will include Ada Wong's The Another Order scenario"

Hope it's a retail release not XBLA/PSN. just for more achievements

As much as I love both games (especially CV) it seems an odd choice. I'm not sure the level of interest is really there for either title and though amazing at the time CV can't escape that it's mechanically aged and an odd bed fellow to RE4. It's nice for core fans of the series and as a curio but reeks of modern Capcoms cash milking a little too much.

Never played RE4 properly, and the thought of it on the 360 pad in HD just made me a little giddy, sign me up!

Personally I would have preferred a remake of two. It's one of the best titles in the series and it's been a while since release so it could be warranted.

IMHO CV and RE4 are the 2 best from the franchise anyway. Well, they were the ones I played the most. Would LOVE HD remakes of both, especially CV as I got onto the 2nd disc but never clocked it.

Same CV was the only one I never finished, i got to the 2nd disk and then for some reason lost interest. But i remember what i did play was awesome! HD and hopfully updated controls on a 360 pad? Winner if you ask me.

The only 2 RE games that would benefit really. The Wii ports of REmake and RE0 didn't even have a 16:9 option due to everything being prerendered in 4:3

It's probably because they're the only two 'proper' Resident Evil games that were not pre-rendered in some way. Remember that these are probably not going to be actual remakes, simply the same games running at a higher resolution+widescreen.

                          Awesome news.

Code: Veronica was the first Resident Evil title that actually creeped me out in a more 'genuine' way rather than the quick shocks used in the previous games. The entire atmosphere (especially Rockfort Island) was incredibly unsettling. Probably the most challenging and lengthy of the traditional RE games as well (at least twice as long as the previous entries).

Can't wait to replay it. Wonder if the PS3 port of RE4 will include Move support.? Wii version worked really well by all accounts.
