Got to the point now where I will stay away from seeing anymore of this until launch as I want it to be as fresh as possible. I cannot believe the Skyrim knockers, the game rocks and I will have to work hard between now and May to get if finished.

I don't think Skyrim is utter crap, I just feel it is more like Myst than an RPG, exploring nice pretty locations with little real core gameplay. It is clearly one of the most overrated games of all time, all this talk of unbelievable art and music and all that makes me wonder if people have forgotten some of the incredible games made in the past.
For me, it should have been a million times better than it actually is.

Skyrim is best treated as a great remake of Oblivion which was a great remake/simplification of Morrowind. Bethesda don't do much in the way of innovation with their games, they're all remakes of the one before them but they're good at world making and Skyrim is just nice as a place to lose several hours in. It's certainly overrated but still a decent game.

            This looks pretty sweet.

Regarding Skyrim. It's technically excellent but the graphically inferior, smaller scoped Dragon Age absolutely destroys it as an actual game. The story in Bethesda's games are garbage with no characters of any interest at all and you can invariably glitch your way through any battle. They really cheapened dragons too. OMFG! It's a dragon, what shall I do? Oh no, I don't know what to... oh, I've killed it (yes I'm sure there are tougher dragons later on but all the dragons should be a challenge IMO). Anyway, back to this and a big worls with RPG stuff and Demon's Souls style combat = interest piqued!

Your trusted source for video game news, reviews and guides, since 1999.

This makes it look flat-out fantastic. Intense Nocturna-rumble with online teammates. Could be ace.

I was all set for going through Dark Souls again, but I might just plump for this instead.

              Skyrim.

So this game has co-op now? Are the characters in that video not just AI team mates?

It doesn't have coop as far as I'm aware. The online section is similarish to Dark Soul's in that you can 'hire' from other people's games, but you can only take their Pawn (AI buddy) and likewise you can send your Pawn out to other games for it to learn secrets and earn experience.

There maybe proper coop but I haven't seen it.

I can actually understand how people would find skyrim overrated, although I don't actually think it is. The main problem with it is that the combats probabaly isn't exciting enough for most people. On the surface there's not much more too it than there is in an old school first person dungeon crawler from the early 90's. A lot of people probably don't realise that the is a bit of depth to the combat becuase most of the time you don't even need to utilise that depth. However there's some skill involved if you want to play at higher difficulties, things like how if you're a melee character you have to learn how to use the shield bash well, or managing your magic as a caster.

Most people probabaly play it on lower difficulties though and just fling themselfs into the combat head first, which takes away fro, the experience really.

I love Skyrim for its atmosphere, and its size. You could just go into the wild from the get go, ignoring any missions but just farm minerals and steal gold. Focus on blacksmithery. During traveling, chances are you'll eventually start a quest cycle anyway.

But I liked traveling to towns to hunt someone down for the Brotherhood. Either fast forward until midnight to stab them in their sleep, or just out in the open. The hits actually felt better to do than in Creed.

Pre ordered this yesterday. I have more or less given up on full price releases but this looks amazing.

We barely announced our own  Monster Hunter Community College post-launch event (it’s gonna be big!) and I already started seeing community members getting some movement organizing their own events… like this one, by Unity member Owen ! Surely, they’ve been working on it before even knowing about the  MHCC , but they’re on separate weekends, […]

A couple of skill videos for each of the classes went up. Leaning more and more torwards playing a mage heh.
