    Dragon's Dogma - Capcom

Captivate is currently under a news embargo but Capcom have teased a new title already:

    ゲームというエンターテインメントを通じて「遊文化」をクリエイトする株式会社カプコンのウェブサイト。ゲーム情報サイトをはじめ企業情報サイト、ネットショッピング、ファンサイトなど、さまざまなサービスについても紹介しています。

The flash has been decompiled and the outline is of a dragon. Capcom have said they're revisiting one of their old franchises...

Breath of Fire? Probably too much to hope for. Capcom are all about focusing on the West now.

I do hope its a new BoF. They haven't made a new one since Dragon Quarter.

My money is on a 3DS rehash of BoF IV or V, hopefully not the latter.

I actually wouldn't mind a port/remake of one of the later breath of fires to the 3DS

Don't get your hopes up for a new Breath of Fire. It looks incredibly unlikely now.

Looks like the Captivate embargo has passed, lots of Capcom news on the sites this afternoon.

            Here's what Dragon's Dogma is.

            An Oblivion clone?

Looks decent enough but it lacks any real identity. As it's a company with no pedigree in Western RPGs it's hard to get too excited for it.

There's no mention of co-op is there? Seems like it's designed with a party in mind, so hopefully drop in co-op is on the agenda.

More of a Monster Hunter knock-off with a more western appeal. Bringing MH Frontier here would have been a much better choice.

Except that MH doesn't have much traction outside of Japan. Not that I think a game called Dragon's Dogma is going to rectify that...

If it's got some of the key people from the RE4/DMC3 teams than I'm really hopeful this'll be good. Those were 2 of the best games of the last gen imo and Capcom have yet to reach those heights again. The exodus of quality staff really seems to have affected them.

MH would have made much more sense to me. A good marketing campaign for the X360 or PC version would have surely been less expensive than a completely new game.

Well I think it looks awesome and I have faith in Capcom that they can deliver on this. Besides it's new IP, that can only be applauded in this day and age, I don't know why people would want more of the same instead.
