Ridge Racer PSVita (working title)

Andriasang are reporting Namco Bandai are making a new Ridge Racer for PSVita. No news on release details, but hopefully its not too far away, every Sony console needs a Ridge!

Namco Bandai announced today that it is developing a version of Ridge Racer for Sony's next generation PlayStation Vita portable system. The game is currently operating under the temporary name of just Ridge Racer.

Details are scarce at present, but Namco Bandai said to expect a new Ridge Racer that uses the features of the Vita. The game is being developed by internal Namco Bandai staff and Celius under the direction of Celius' Hideo Teramoto. Teramoto served as associate producer on Ridge Racer 7.

Namco Bandai did not share a release time period for the game. Ridge Racer games have typically launched with Sony platforms in the past.

You'd pay 499 US dollars for it? Remember, Nintendo have been the trend setters this gen - their rivals will start thinking it acceptable to be pricing their portables for more cash than their home consoles!

That said however, let's hope their rivals learn from the mistake of the 3DS and actually bother to support the thing at launch, and maybe not price it out of the range of the average Joe public.

I think they've confirmed $249/$299 for the US. Not sure if that'll translate as $1=?1 for the UK.

Edit: UK official Playstation site has pricing at ?249/?299. Not seen anything in ?s yet.

The conference was yesterday and it has the same RRP as 3DS (for the non-3G model).
