Any reason why Amazon only seem to have the base pack and HMV only have the Zombie-U/Premium packs?

    Comment

Interestingly Amazon still have not canceled or increased my Premium Pack preorder, so it looks like i could be getting the Premium Pack+ZombieU+Tank!Tank! all for under ?310

If they do decide to not honour the price, may just cancel the preorder then

That's true, they are. I never said they weren't, to be fair - but it's questionable whether Xbox overall has made much real profit yet. The original Xbox was a completely loss-making affair, designed to implant MS into the game console industry
The X-Box lost money for MS for all sorts of reasons and bad deals done with component manufactures - None of which really happened with the 360 and will not happen with the next box -due to it not being rushed into the market . I bet with out the Red Ring of death, MS would have been making a lovely profit ever earlier onthe 360 .

Kind of does seem like it's good enough though...Nintendo games sell over a very long period of time. The average shelf life of a blockbuster 360/PS3 release is far shorter
Really > So why is the Wii being outsold now in every market, The Wii marketshare for games sales in the West so poor, why is Nintendo rushing out the Wii U. Nintendo plan maybe is great for them, not great for 3rd parties

The situation is far more complex than you are making it appear. During that time Nintendo launched a new system with the 3DS, an unbelievably costly affair from R&D to manufacturing and marketing
Nintendo were lossing money and seeing a massive dip in their profits even before the 3DS came out and launching the Wii or the DS never hit their profits before . Nintendo has made losses of some 700 million quid those are huge numbers for a company that never ever made a loss before

Yeah you can get laptops with far more power than the Wii U. They cost a lot more than ?250 though
I know, just saying the power is already there .

I mean look at how sh*t the graphics were on the Wii. And it wasn't even HD. And it still sold sh*tloads.
Yeah it was sold on the back a controller than everyone can use and play - even you mum and grandad an it was ever made in the sharp of a normal remote . The Wii U now ships with a controller bigger and more complex than the 360 or PS3 controller ; So gone are the days when Nintendo made out that non- gamers couldn't use the traditional controller due to too many buttons .

They are hyping the next generation of systems because their continued profits are dependent on their success. They're really not a reliable source of information to be quite honest
I think you're clutching at straws . Given the GPU in the 360 is 7 years old, it should be really possible and quite easy to ship a GPU with some 4 times the ability of the 360 for various effects in the Next Box

Partly because at least the Wii is in HD this time!
Being in HD it will show up any short coming more imo. Lets remember that Nintendo when having a pop at the 360 and PS3 said the HD era meant much bigger teams , much bigger budgets and longer development times . SONY and MS are now well versed in the High Def era is Nintendo ready for longer development times, bigger budgets and bigger teams ? It can barley support the 3Ds with software, never mind the wii . Time will tell I guess

I don't think you can say that the Wii U controller will turn off casual gamers when it's basically a giant DS, and the DS printed a lot of money for Nintendo on the back of idiots buying crap like Bunnyz and NSMB.

Maybe because everyone, apart from families in North Korea, already have one. There will be a ton of pre-owned sales in the mix too by now - plus the fact that any hardly go tits, as compared to the Xbox. Not anywhere near as much need to buy multiple units.

It's the same as on Game Dev Story; you make the best thing since snorting coke off of titties was invented and it sells 8 billion copies, after those have sold it kind of goes stagnant, and fast.

Shut up dave, or you'll give publishers ideas! Degradable game discs (Microsoft already have the market cornered on degradable consoles)! You just wait. This time next year...

I always thought they'd try games a fiver, but then 50p per play.

What's going to happen in the future is you're going to pay full price to download the title of the latest game, and then you just imagine the gameplay for yourself. It sounds ****, but I can guarantee the majority of releases will be an improvement over what we have now.

How would you guys feel if that future consoles came in a contract, so rather than paying a single fee of ?200-400 or whatever, we pay?30 per month, much like our phones.... Just curious.

                            Personally, I wouldn't like it.

I want to own my console. I want to decide what games or accessories I buy for it and when, and not worry wether I get enough of use of it for my money.

I should be able to play my purchased games when ever I want regardless if I have my "subscription" on or not.

Actually I change my opinion, I would hate it.

You can do this in the USA for a 360 over 2 years.

If it was a mega powered (so expensive) console I wouldnt mind depending on the terms. But anything sub 500 quid I would just buy outright.
