Ah, Microprose Soccer... almost forgot about that game. I used to play it all the time on my C64.

It was particularly memorable because when the ball was booted up in the air and was coming down to a computer player, he would wiggle about for a couple of seconds like he was having a fit...

FIFA 96 had a dive button, i remember using a dive to win a penalty when there was no-one within 10 yards of my player! not that i'm saying it was at all random... 96 also had the indoor mode where you could play 5-a-side. This should definately be in all football games (although it would have been nice if you could have had the option to switch on 5-a-side rules like allowing backpasses / head height rule / no slide tackles etc...

I think this was the FIFA 2002 world cup edition. It was much more 'cartoony' than the others (but still fairly crap!)

      btw, I haven't owned a fifa game since '98 - RTWC (honestly!!)

Actually, I think it was called FIFA S.T.A.R.S.
I don't think that the STARS stood for anything, though.
I'm preeetty sure that it used a different engine, and that was the only game like that, although I think one of the management games used the engine too, for the in-match view thingy.

Ive played the PC version of this...It utterly stinks.

People need their heads read if they can take this over Winning Eleven/PES.

Played the PC version, and scored in no time. Fifa is always slow because the hard disk has to access the commentary.
Its always the bloody same. 2003 used to have moments of slowdown whilst this was done.
