Yeah, I want to see in game stuff. There were tons of bull shots from the previous Halo's and none of the ones released this gen have been lookers. I've expecting this to play it very, very safe and be more of the same. That'll be EDGE's next 10/10 then.

I don't think anybody can claim be suprised that it's an in engine hi resolution render (1600x900) Halo 3 caused massive outrage for that and it's commonplace for developers titles to do something similar for press shots.

The Uncharted 3 screenshots for example had an extra AA pass appled to them that wasn't present in game.


Some fresh eyes on the Series could be a good thing, but we will have to see. At the end of the day it's a Halo game and it's in first person, so they aren't going to divert massively from the formula for the previous games.

Master Chief is gradually getting better looking though, that's for sure

I agree with you that no Halo game came even close to matching the brilliance of the first game. I thought 3 was very dissapointing, ODST was decent and Reach just left me completely cold. I'd say if you didn't like Reach after an hour then there's not much else to look forward too.

I think Bungie should go back and look carefully at what made Halo 1 so good. Limited weapon selection, minimalistic but intriguing story, locations that made sense, enemies that were actually danagerous rather and had to be actively engaged rather than a risk free war of atrition. Then again if it keep selling well maybe they think that they're making good games.

You not played Halo Anniversary? The game really doesn't play as well as the more recent ones.

I still rate Halo 3 as the most enjoyable campaign, controversial I know.

I don't really remember much of H3 but I do remember being let down by not having a fight with that Little Shop of Horrors tentacle thing. In fact, I swear they did bugger-all with the tentacle thing, despite the scene at the end of H2

Can't really remember the plot, just remember how much fun it was trying to board those Scarabs.

I remember a level where you're inside its lair(and I think it or Cortana keep spouting random stuff to you and messing with your helmet) and then you escape on the plane thing and its tentacles try reaching for you and then... I think it gets blown up like you said.

Oh yes, the Scarabs were great fun. Always loved trying different ways to board them.
