The intro to SMW, SNES. The best level ever in the world. And you can play it too but sometimes I can just watch it over and over again.

Seconded on Rez Level 5 too

The Water Temple in Ocarina of time. It all fits together so well! In fact all the levels in Ocarina...except maybe the Fire Temple....borrrring!

When u break thro the rune covered slab in Exile on the BBC...an immense task in itself...then your suddenly into the 'serious' inner sanctum of the game, and you trigger off the bastard hard robots.

Goldeneye?s Frigate and Facility are excellent...Agreed.

The calm Atlantis stage (think it was called so) was very beatiful in Ecco The Dolphin: Defender of The Future...while "Hanging Waters" was very clever.

The third level of Super Probotector (or Contra3 if you?re a purist) when the helicopter actually FIRES the missile youre hanging from towards this huge blimp boss. Does action get more hardcore than that?

I think it was called "Pure lands" or something in Secret of Mana, when you were getting very close to the Mana tree and you could feel it. I was on the edge of my seat the first time playing it. Great music too.

"Final Rush" from Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic is grinding blazingly fast trough the atmospheare. Very cool.

Lost Forest from Zelda 3. Very pretty fog and great atmospheare.

The floating raft level in Soul Edge and It?s counterpart in Soul Calibur. Also from that game the gorgeus Venice level and Cervantes pirate ship anchored outside the fortress. (Is it only me thinking the levels in Soul Calibur 1 are better than those in Soul Calibur 2?)

Umm....There's lots more but I?ts really hard figuring out. [/b]

            Moments that blew me away...

The 'Electric Sea' (level 3) in Parrallax.

Rock tunnels in Outrun (Level B).

The Level in Serious Sam (3 i think) your slowly taking out one guy at a time approaching the apex of a hill, then you reach the top and theres loads of the buggers.

Second mountain on SSX 3. Pure vertigo.

Whilst Rez Lvl 5 is of course utterly awesome, it's the 'Running Man' boss on Lvl 3 (? - I think) that always gets my juices flowing, as soon as that guitar riff breaks through, gaming couldn't be better.

Oh, and the Tanker level in MGS2, seeing Snake land on there in the pouring rain still sends a shiver

                  first level on contra 3

mario 64 : the one in the water (1st one if there is more than one, too long since i have played it). It was soo relaxing swimming about in there.

Diddy kong racing: one of the snowy levels with a huge downhill slope at the beggining. (i love that music)

                  Halo: The Silent Cartographer

Sin and Punishment: The one with the aeroplanes if you haven't played this level you have never lived

                    Four games for me:

                    Pilotwings 64
Flying around The States in Birdman mode is quite possibly my single favourite moment from any game. The cheesy music, the beautiful graphics and the attention to detail I adored. The sheer relaxation of it meant I spent hours just flying around.
What really got me was that I could just fly around for as long as I wanted, doing absolutely nothing except taking pictures of The States.
Utterly stunning, please give me the new one!

                    Rez
Level 5, Fear. The one that tells the story.
I got goosebumps when I 1st played this level, absolutely stunning.
Running man runs it close though, the way the electric guitar kicks in is awesome.

                    Mario 64
The 1st water level from my favourite game of all. Swimming with the eel that came out of the sunken ship was really, really jaw dropping for me. The freedom and music really did "it" for me, especially the way the level was so soothing and relaxing. The 1st Bowser battle run's it close though.

                    Goldeneye
Facility level. Shooting the cap off the guard's head at the start was special for me. The level then turns out to be stunning and so well laid out.

Ganondorf's homeland in OOT. The first time I got Epona to jump the broken bridge I had goosebumps all over. The music, the desert environment...AMAZING!. I still do that now whenever I turn on the N64 and have a go at OOT

I also really like 99 street (is that what it's called?) in JSRF.

                        Golden Saucer Themepark - FF7
the date, the haunted mansion and the introduction of Cat Sith - gaming bliss

                        Facility - GoldenEye
i must of played this level hundreds of times, perfect enemy layout and trigger events mean you can play this all out action or stealth your way to the end, also it makes a great 'sandbox' level once you've finished the game and want to prat about

The level where you have to destroy the giant MT in Armored Core (1); you are exiting with depleted ammo and armour thinking you've finished it, yet when you emerge outside this huge MT appears and starts laying into you - scared the **** out me the first time i played it!

Honorable mention to the first time you meet Valkyre (AC1), Level 21: Stop the Surface Weapon (AC2), Level 34: Eliminate Leon Klein (AC2), the Ancient City levels in AC2:AA and Level 4.1: Secret Weapon Development Facility Rescue (AC3:SL).

I love most of the levels from viewtiful joe. I love the music from the main castle in mario64 and the snow level (with the giant penguin i think its the second world) everything about mario 64 level design is perfect.

The battle level between Kirah and Gitaroo Man on... Gitaroo Man. The electric reprise of the earlier campfire ballad is not only genuinely affecting, but makes for a nice level to play.

Level 5 in Rez is a work of art.

The Spirit Temple in OOT is really pleasant.

Visiting the Thames in Xenogears. Love the music.

Olrox's Laboratory in Castlevania : SOTN, just for the Danny Elfman-esque tune that accompanies it.

Ilike the Aztec Temple on Goldenye in 00 Agent. Yeah, it's rock hard, but the sense of accomplishment you get when you beat it...
