They haven't actually announced it as being a retail release yet. Only PSN/ XBL so far

Yeah thats what I mean. Put it on a disc and I'll play and sell for a fiver less. 15 quid to take up hard drive space when I'm done with it is why I hate downloads.

You can't delete games from the hard disc?

I don't follow what you're saying CMM? You can always re-download stuff you've bought on XBLA/PSN if you need the space.

so the only 'benefit' he gets when its finished is it talking up space for his ?15.

Ah, OK. I suppose the confusion is surrounding the fact it isn't coming out on disc, as yet confirmed.

In this 2006 interview the Crytek CEO says Crysis isn't possible on consoles
I saw this quote under the GT vid of console Crysis. The arguing is funny

I've done nothing but chain face palm at console gamers since this trailer was first shown.

Do people have any idea how many times I have had to explain that porting Crysis to consoles wasn't possible; in its "current form"? Referencing the CEO of Crytek himself explaining that consoles do not have enough memory to support Crysis scale levels. Then surprise surprise, when Crysis 2 came out; it had been converted to cell streaming. It had tiny corridor levels and a background that was only props sitting on nothing.

Crysis 2 proved the exact point that PC gamers, and the CEO of Crytek, was trying to make.

Fast forward to Crysis 1 being converted to, surprise surprise, cell streaming in order to accommodate consoles low memory. And what do we see? What do we see everywhere?

"PC fanboys said console couldn't run this game.""Looks like they were wrong."

... No we were not wrong. You are just too ****ing stupid to even understand what the argument was to begin with. Crysis 1/2 on consoles had their scale stripped down in order to accommodate console memory, there is nothing about that that counters the arguments that were made.

And of cause the ultimate dumb ****s are the ones that think that this is equal to, and even surpasses, the graphics of the original game. Not only does this demonstrate that these people have no idea what Crysis actually looks like on PC, but they have zero comprehension of how hardware works, if they think 2005 console spec can match/beat PC at a game designed for future proofing in 2007.

This is why I cannot stand some console gamers, they live in a fantasy land of optimization unlocking infinite performance. It's like trying to talk to a child that believes in magic.

Dunno if people agree/disagree with that at all but it's hard to tell much from the little video. Hope there'll be a demo.

Yeah. Crysis Warhead fixed this problem really.

Is the original crisis actually a good game? I never had a pc with the juice back in the day but I have a decent system now and I do enjoy a good fps and appreciate nice graphics on the pc. I think Game sell it for a tenner with warhead or something. Thing is, I won't play multiplayer so the sp needs to be good.

                          Spoiler that above post please!

I loved the single player in Crysis. If I had just one criticism about the main single player game, it's that it's lacking in interesting characters and that negatively affects the story (I mainly couldn't care about what was happening or why). But that is entirely rectified in Warhead - which I actually think improves on the original in most ways - as the main character in that is fantastic.

As for gameplay, it's excellent. So many ways of approaching things, different tricks to play with and loads of fun. It's not easy - I died a lot. But I found myself not minding because, each time, my different approaches led to things playing out differently so it got really interesting through experimentation. The locations are stunning and varied and there are some really fantastic set pieces. While some elements go a little downhill towards the end, there are even bigger set pieces so it sort of balances out.

I love it. But, yeah, if you can get it with Warhead do. That's an expansion/side-story that just takes everything in Crysis and makes it more fun.

I don't think it's a good game. Good experience. My issues with it - your power bar goes down far too fast, your weapons do very little damage, and the AI can spot you a mile off through thick trees and shoot you dead on accordingly. Thankfully all could be saved through the ini files.

Changing them, I played through and enjoyed it.

It's funny that because I thought exactly the same and stopped playing after that point.

It's excellent. It's almost a shame it got a reputation for the graphical fidelity, which obscured the fact it was an innovative and fun game in its own right.
