    Dead Space 3

What appears to be a Dead Space 3 logo and concept art have popped up in a video tour of EA's Redwood offices shown on …

I think their still waiting for final confirmation but an Israeli new tv show featured a segment where they visited EA's Redwood studio and during the news piece they inadvertently showed the games logo and a wall of necromancer concept art from the game. Either way it won't be surprising to hear the game is being fast tracked for release after the success EA had with the last game. Best guess would be an early 2013 release.

I think 2013 is pessimistic, I'd be pretty suprised if they weren't aiming for the 2012 Thanksgiving period.

Agree with that, they could tell from the ever increasing fanbase of the original that they would get a trilogy out of the series.
Since they set a few things up on Dead Space 2/Severed and left a few things unanswered, I seriously will not be able to wait for DS3.

If Dead Space 3 came out next year it'd be an 18 month turn around which would raise my red flags straight away. The series could be a long and great one but good though it was DS2 showed some signs of cut corners as it were so I'd much prefer them to take their time with 3

Indeed, I'd like to see them take their time with this. I loved Dead Space 2, but to say the game was very similar to the original would be an understatement. It didn't really matter because it was a fantastic game, but I don't think they'd get away with that again, they really need to evolve the formula a bit more.

I'd sooner see EA give the green light to a Mirror's Edge sequel if I'm honest, though I'll have no qualms with a new Dead Space.

Sound good hopefully not as many beasties at the end like in DS2. Story sounds promising.

                          DANGER WILL ROBINSON! DANGER!

Dead Space 3 will feature drop in-drop out co-op.

Co-op is the worst thing to ever happen to the survival horror genre.

Yep, they just become action games with crappy controls.

The worst they can do is replace the human co-operative with an AI variant when no one else is playing...

EDIT: Actually, the main lead in this new game will surely be trained in combat, so maybe they can work on decent controls and get away with it.

The reason why RE1&2, SH, and DS1 worked so well with poor controls was the fact that the main characters were never trained to deal with these kind of situations... It actually puts you in their shoes more (How many here would resort to cricket bats and metal poles in the event of a zombie invasion? Rather than sub-machine guns and acrobatics?)

RE4 turned that around by bringing back Leon who knew how intense he had to be. You had all the tools to boss that game.

RE5 went back to being crap by trying to copy Dead Space's real-time weapon selection, bringing back a cumbersome approach - which I can only put down to Chris being so jacked up on steroids and protein shakes.
