Pretty damn cool being able to play Star Wars Trilogy although I'm finding the final lightsaber battle kind of hard It seems to work almost 100% apart from a few sound glitches.

Anyone know if there is a good dreamcast emulator out there?

Never had a PC that would cope so I didn't bother trying, but I know nullDC was a DC emu, no idea if it's the best. Hyperspin is a frontend for a lot of emus, whatever they use for the DC is probably good.

Makaron was the best Dreamcast emulator out there for a long time, but I think demul has gotten a lot better now.

That's the one I was trying to remember, I think what are the minimum specs? I know PS2 emulation apparently requires 2.8ghz PC minimum, but not sure of DC stuff. I even gave away a PC that could have done it, bah.

              Resurrection.

Supermodel 0.3a is currently on the SVN, so I've compiled and given it a go.

The performance boost is INCREDIBLE. Well worth a shot if the emulator was just a little bit too slow for you before. Daytona USA 2 works like an absolute dream now.

I let the attract mode run on for a bit - Game starts at 2:15

Running this on an AMD Phenom II X4 850 @ 3.3ghz, 8gb ram, Geforce GTX 460.

                  Precompiled 0.3a for you:

                  x86

                  x64

Not my doing - Thanks to venomv1986 on the Supermodel 3 forums.

                  SVN is here - http://sourceforge.net/projects/model3emu/develop

Cheers for the link. Been wanting to try the SVN build for a while but didn't have the know how to compile it.

As you say, performance has definitely improved. I was only really getting framerate dips on the Advanced Course on Daytona 2 when the bats were flying around but they seem to have gone now. Also noticed that the 2D elements on the course/car/transmission select screens are also displayinging correctly no.

Still the weird missing car textures bug for a lot of AI vehicles though.

I haven't got a clue what I need to do to run this.

Have the roms but the SM prog doesn't do anything when I double click.

It's command prompt based, no official GUI though you can find a couple of third party GUIs on the forums. I personally don't bother.

I have separate .bat files for the different games I want to run.

If you want to play the game with an Xbox 360 pad (highly recommended), the first thing you'll want to do is run it with the following:

                        supermodel -input-system=xinput -config-inputs

You can then go through and assign different inputs as it says. It's initially confusing, so you just press Return then move the stick or press the button you want to set.

If you want to calibrate joystick axes, you press B.

Once you've changed controls, make sure you exit with Q and not Esc. Q saves, Esc doesn't.

You can then run with supermodel roms/romname.zip -input-system=xinput and it'll get running.

                        ------

Worth noting is the widescreen hack that's been added in with this release. It's absolutely superb.

                        supermodel roms/dayto2pe.zip -input-system=xinput -res=1920,1200 -ppc-frequency=50 -wide-screen -fullscreen
