Minecraft has broken Day 1 sales for an XBL release

MS released the information which then annoyed the creator of Fez who must wait 3-4 months to learn what his game has sold and isn't allowed free updates.

For April 2012, in the US the top selling games were:

In the US Microsoft sold 236,000 units of the 360 in April to take the 16th month in a row of being the highest selling hardware in the territory. Sony withheld figures but said the Vita was performing well. Nintendo also withheld figures as usual however NGD Group went on to add that the 3DS has sold 1million units there in its first year more than the NDS did which went on to sell the most this gen.

Those Vita sales - not good. Big E3 performance needed if Sony are to save the system from an early death.

UK chart is out and Sniper Elite V2 holds strong to the top spot. The big news is that latest PS3 exclusive Starhawk stumbled quite hard limping in at only 17th in a week where little else was released.

Capcom has said that Street Fighter x Tekkens current sales total of 1.4m units is below expectations and have partially blamed the market for being oversaturated. Likely true, though it's Capcom themselves most at blame for that.

Whilst the 3DS has seen massive sales and a huge leap on its early struggles its sales in the UK are slower than the predecessor still.

The Vita has sold just 100,000 units in the UK so far. A third of what the PSP sold in the same timeframe at launch.
